Mikey Weinstein Worries about Christian ISIS

As described in the Digital Journal:

Mikey Weinstein, an Air Force Academy graduate, is worried that radical Christians pose the same kind of threat ISIS does in the Middle East…

Weinstein routinely uses over-the-top language to describe Christians, partially to gain attention and partially to coat-tail the topic du jour, so associating US military Christians with ISIS is par for the course.

Further [emphasis added]:

Many in the military believe their No. 1 duty is destroy anyone who opposes Christianity, Weinstein says.

It’s a good thing conspiracy theories are, by definition, unprovable.  It saves Weinstein the trouble of having to support his wild accusations with those pesky things called “facts.”

  • In my time in the military I have never met anyone who believes “their No. 1 duty is destroy anyone who opposes Christianity”. Service men and women come from many different walks of life before joining the military and so it is true that there will be some bigots and racists in uniform, just as there are everywhere else in the country, however to say that “many” believe this or this is a common problem is a gross exaggeration.

    • Mikey Weinstein believes that Christians in the US military are a “national security threat,” although I don’t see how they are a threat to anybody but their sisters and brothers in uniform- doesn’t the fact that the US military needs to regulate how specific religions and religious practices are treated speak for the nature of our military? These are conversations we shouldn’t have to be having in the first place, but are obviously necessary because of what is going on in the field. While I agree that maybe not every serviceman or servicewoman’s “number 1 duty is to destroy anyone who opposes Christianity,” there seems to be a prominent amount of discrimination inside the media that leads to these law and government conversations.
