Military Curbs Religious Group’s Activities

According to an international paper called, interestingly enough, The Hindu, Dawat-e-Islami has attracted the attention of the Pakistani military after a policeman apparently from that group was accused of assassinating a governor.  As a result, the military has

decided to curtail the activities of a proselytising organisation in their ranks after intelligence reports warned that its growing influence in the armed forces would have serious implications.

Dawat-e-Islami, which literally means “invitation to Islam,” claims to be a “religious non-political organization,” and appears to advocate for the Sunni sect of the Islamic faith.  The article indicates they have not previously been the focus of attention due to their “non-violent religious views.”  Indeed, many news events of the Barelvi movement, which Dawat-e-Islami represents, indicate they are frequently the victim of violence.

The military indicates the renewed attention is not unique.

“It is nothing new. We have zero tolerance for all such organisations within the military,” the official said.

He acknowledged that Dawat-e-Islami has a following in the armed forces but said this was not unusual.

The official’s next statement is sometimes unique outside of Western nations:

“You can’t stop individuals practicing their own religious beliefs if they are not violating the military discipline,” he said.

  • Wow! This sounds just like the Dominion Christian organization in the American Armed Forces.

It becomes easier to understand the concept of internal religious proselytizing in the military when you consider it is done by militant religious groups who would love to get their hands on some smokin’ hot nukes to advance their cause of world domination.

So it seems that Christian extremists in the US armed forces are pitted against Islamic extremists in the Pakistani and probably other Muslim armed forces. So what’s new? Muslims have been fighting Christians for centuries. You’d think they would give it a rest.

I’m afraid, however, that we are in for the long haul when it comes to religious extremism. It ain’t like baseball where when one team wins they shake hands and go home. Dominion Christians will have a gay old time converting and upgrading military personnel and preparing them for holy war againsgt the evil Muslims and the Muslims will do the same in their militaries.

I’ll venture to say that the Christian Fighter Pilots, having delineated themselves as God fearing and obeying warriors, will be first in line to deal with the dark forces of Muslim extremists in Mid Eastern, African and Indonesia. Then on to deal with the growing Islamic populations in Europe. But I’m still reeling from their concept that God must come first in all things, then family and then country comes in as a distant third. I thought our oaths to our constitution made it a priority to uphold it and protect the American people first. Wow. Religion sure has a way of skewing things around.

  • Might not be a bad idea for MRFF to open a branch office in Pakistan. Then they could help guarantee religious freedom to the moderate Muslims in the Pakistani armed forces as they do moderate Christians in the US Armed Forces. Of course the Dominion Christians in the US Military harrass the Jewish, Atheist, Agnostic and non-Christian troops as well.
