Mikey Weinstein’s MRFF “Charity” Reported to IRS for Potential Impropriety

A few years ago, Chris Rodda, Michael “Mikey” Weinstein’s research assistant, made the somewhat comical claim that the outcome of an investigation was irrelevant; rather, the fact an investigation occurred was all that mattered [capitalization original]:

The OUTCOME of the investigation…is irrelevant. It’s the fact that…he CALLED FOR the investigation…

It’s a moronic assertion on its face, but its something upon which the MRFF has relied. If an investigation happened, then they act as though their claims were vindicated — outcome notwithstanding.

Mikey Weinstein, though, very recently took it one step further and is now citing as “evidence” an accusation being reported — not even an investigation, not a resolution, just him reporting something.

Referring to ChristianFighterPilot.com, Weinstein said this site [emphasis added]

has a sordid history of being officially reported to military authorities for cyber-stalking subordinate MRFF clients far too junior in rank to fight back against [the] vicious and merciless “behind the keyboard” attacks.

Fascinating. But if the “report” was true and valid, why doesn’t Weinstein say anything about an investigation or celebrate the monstrous victory over this “vicious and merciless” foe? Two likely reasons: There’s more to the story than Weinstein lets on (and the unmentioned details undermine his narrative), or he simply doesn’t know, so he’s letting “intrigue” and innuendo fill in the gaps.

Of course, anyone who has followed ChristianFighterPilot.com for any length of time knows Weinstein’s implications about “attacks” are false.  Weinstein himself fails to provide any evidence of anyone being the victim of a “vicious and merciless” attack on this site.  Just because he says it, doesn’t make it true.  (In fact, the opposite is likely the case.)

Again, Weinstein says ChristianFighterPilot.com [emphasis added]

has also been reported to military authorities for equating homosexuality to bestiality on [the] “God and Country” internet blog [sic]

That’s another pretty clear example of an accusation not needing to be true to be “reported”, given that no such equation is or was ever made on this site. (The two are equally sinful in the Christian faith, but that’s a topic for another time.)

More interesting is the demonstration of a unique Mikey Weinstein technique of circular evidence: Weinstein is using the existence of a “report” to buttress his current claims — yet Weinstein’s MRFF is the one that made that report. Weinstein is creating his own “evidence” — and not for the first time.  Clever, eh?

Weinstein’s reliance on his own “reports” is telling, particularly when you look at just the past few months. All Weinstein has is “reports,” because he’s making baseless complaints that the US military is either dismissing or outright ignoring:

  • LtGen Steven Kwast has not been “aggressively punished,” as Weinstein demanded when he “reported” him for an offending statement of faith — which is still online.
  • Despite the somewhat comical threat of “appropriate action,” the Marine Corps Recruit Depot has not bowed to Mikey Weinstein’s February demand about next Christmas.
  • Despite an MRFF “report” to Maxwell’s IG about a prayer breakfast invitation, the celebration went on and Chaplain (MajGen) Dondi Costin spoke at the event.
  • US Army MajGen Julie Bentz has not been fired for praying for her troops, despite Mikey Weinstein’s “report” of her activity and his pleas for vengeance.
  • Despite Mikey Weinstein reporting AFGSC to the IG because it used the word “pray,” the Air Force Global Strike Command’s “Year of the Family” focus areas have not changed — and still include “pray”.

Those were all the “reports” Weinstein made in just the last few months — and the US military has, to this point, publicly ignored or dismissed every one.

Making lots of complaints doesn’t make you a freedom fighter or civil rights icon.  It just makes you a complainer.  Ask any mother of a two-year-old.

Importantly, anyone can “report” or file a complaint about anything. Simply filing a “report” says nothing about its underlying validity, and Weinstein provides no evidence to prove any of his complaints were even justified, much less acted on. In fact, Weinstein’s failure to discuss the evidence beyond his actual accusation — particularly for events that occurred years ago — undermines his already nonexistent credibility even further.

Again, anyone can “report” anything.

Want to try it out?

Did you know the IRS has pretty easy instructions on how to report possible tax code violations by charities? Turns out, all you have to do is fill out the short IRS Form 13909 and send it to either the snail mail or email address included. Simple.

So, let’s say someone was concerned after reading the Air Force Times report on Mikey Weinstein’s self-salary. Or maybe someone read Weinstein’s fundraising plea and thought it less than truthful. Or perhaps somebody requested the MRFF’s annual IRS Form 990 and they refused to provide it — as they are required to do.

What would happen if that someone was to take this form, which coincidentally has the MRFF’s information filled in, and send it on to the IRS?

Click. Amazing! Now headlines may appear that Michael “Mikey” Weinstein’s Military Religious Freedom Foundation has been “reported” to the IRS due to potential financial improprieties involving Mikey Weinstein’s sole paid employee — himself.

In fact, click again, send another complaint, and you can say Weinstein’s MRFF has been reported multiple times to the IRS.

Wait two weeks before you file the next report and you can say the IRS has been besieged by reports for weeks that Mikey Weinstein’s MRFF may be violating US tax law, all from the comfort of your living room. (In fact, this is so easy maybe you can start your own 501(c)3 and pay yourself for filing “reports” and then writing about how Weinstein has been reported.  Isn’t that what Weinstein does with his “charity”?)

Every decent person realizes publicizing those reports as some form of “evidence” of impropriety is meaningless — yet that is precisely the same thing Mikey Weinstein does about others.  Mikey Weinstein, despite proclaiming himself a civil rights leader, has become so impotent he has to file “reports” about things just so he can talk about the fact things are being “reported.”  He’s making up his own news and his own “evidence.”

That’s kind of pathetic, when you think about it.
