US Air Force Updates Weinstein, Social Media Guidance

The office of the Air Force Judge Advocate General recently published its annual update to “The Military Commander and the Law,” (PDF) a 1,000-page desk book that isn’t authoritative but is intended to give commanders an overview of legal issues they may experience in their units.

The 2016 edition continues a tradition of including official JAG “Mikey Weinstein Guidance” originally inserted in 2010. Located specifically in the “religious issues” section, it says, in essence, that commanders should be very careful how they handle people and organizations who make complaints against their unit. It was clearly written for Mikey Weinstein, an activist and former JAG who makes threatening phone calls directly to military commanders telling them they’ll be sued or seen on CNN if they don’t comply [emphasis added]:  Read more

Mikey Weinstein Forced to Advertise for Attention

Despite claiming to represent more than 40,000 “clients,” Michael “Mikey” Weinstein has apparently been unable to sustain a donor base to the “charity” that funds his paycheck and is the vehicle that allows him to attack military religious freedom.

Weinstein’s public Facebook profile has been hammered in recent days by comments from those who disagree with his attacks on religious liberty and Christianity. A few MRFF acolytes were apparently surprised by the sudden influx of “trolls” and have tried to defend against these criticisms by asking why those critics are bothering to visit a page they don’t like.

It turns out those critics aren’t visiting Weinstein’s page. Mikey Weinstein is paying to visit them.

It seems Mikey Weinstein has been paying Facebook to Read more

US Army Posts “Under God,” Atheists Complain

The US Army 3rd Infantry Regiment — better known as The Old Guard — recently posted a US Army graphic by SPC Taylor Lutheran to Facebook which combined a photograph of President Obama at the Tomb of the Unknowns with a flag and the phrase “One Nation Under God:”

The image ended up irritating both “sides of the aisle,” as critics of President Obama questioned his acknowledgement of God, and critics of religion questioned Read more

Harassed by Mikey Weinstein, Part 4: Joy to the World

In light of last week’s US Air Force Band “flash mob” at the Smithsonian, it’s worth remembering that Michael “Mikey” Weinstein’s incessant email campaign of harassment against ChristianFighterPilot.com took no holiday. In his attempts to harass this site into bowing to his demands, Weinstein even tried to take the joy out of the Christmas season.

It was December 2013 when the US Air Force Band first famously “flash mobbed” the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. They played “Joy to the World.” This site recounted that event, complete with the video, here.

Mikey did not like it.

USAFA Responds to Mikey Weinstein with Common Sense

Much like he has in a few VA hospitals, Michael “Mikey” Weinstein’s “charity” recently tried to make a kerfuffle out of a magazine sitting in a clinic waiting room at the US Air Force Academy. When Pam Zubeck of the local tabloid-esque regional paper asked USAFA for a statement, they gave a pretty understandable reply:

We have not received any complaints regarding the publication you reference. The clinic staff did not place the publication in the waiting area nor are they aware of how it may have been placed there. Often, patients will leave magazines in waiting areas after they have finished reading them. Additionally, the publication you sent us is not a USAFA publication.

Apparently aware he had Read more

Mikey Weinstein Attacks USAFA Coach Steed Lobotzke for Bible Tweets

Michael “Mikey” Weinstein says he will call for an Inspector General investigation of US Air Force Academy football coach Steed Lobotzke, because Lobotzke quotes Bible verses on his Twitter account [emphasis added]:

Unchecked Christian extremism is worse than ever at the Academy…

Lobotzke’s official twitter feed is filled with illicit proselytizing in the name of Jesus ChristUnconstitutional filth, thy name be Steed Lobotzke…

This [is the] latest disgrace to the Constitution of unlawful, fundamentalist Christian supremacy

To be clear, Lobotzke’s “crime” was nothing more than Read more

Air Force Band Celebrates Christmas, Flash Mobs Smithsonian

The US Air Force Band continued its annual tradition of a “flash mob” performance of holiday songs. This year was less “flash” and more “mob,” given the use of prepositioned stages, but, in a refreshing surprise, the “holiday” songs clearly referred to the “holy” day:

This year’s event featured two Christmas carols: “Patapan,” which the vocalists sang in French and English, and “Ding Dong Merrily on High,” which is based on a French dance tune originally by Jehan Tabourot, with the text being written by English composer George Ratcliffe Woodward.

From the two songs, which are clearly Christmas carols:  Read more

Top Air Force General Explains the Pilot’s Prayer

Air Force Chief of Staff General David Goldfein recently explained how modern technology has changed the “pilot’s prayer”:

“When I grew up flying F-16s, the pilot’s prayer was, ‘Please God, let me find my target and not let my buddies down,’” Goldfein said. “It’s changed. In precision warfare and the information age, it’s ‘Please God, let me hit the right target, and not let my buddies down…”

(Not to be confused with the Fighter Pilot Prayer, also known as “The Lord is my Crew Chief.”)

General Goldfein’s point was that technology has advanced to the point that pilots almost always hit what they aim at — so their prayer now is that they’re aiming at the right target (a surprisingly difficult challenge in the fog and friction of war, sometimes).

Michael “Mikey” Weinstein will now Read more
