Christian Officer Encourages Political Action

At a Memorial Day event in “Nashville’s most patriotic church” attended by thousands, including Mike Huckabee, LtCol (ret) Courtney Rodgers gave a stirring motivation to those in the congregation about how they can honor the sacrifice of the men and women in the military who serve them:

We take an oath that binds us to the ideological foundation of this nation – to the ideals of freedom within our constitution.  We leave our families for months, maybe even years, so that you may never have to bow before any earthly king or dictator.  We fight to protect your God-given rights…  Read more

The conservative Christian group based in Fort Lauderdale says efforts this week to repeal the 1993 law limiting gay and lesbian service represent “a direct assault on the military’s good order, discipline, unit cohesion, recruitment, retention and morale.”  Read more

The article highlighted the potential role of Chaplains beyond service to American servicemembers:  Read more

Latest Mojave Cross Mysteries

Update:  The recently erected cross at the Mojave site has been removed, according to local sites.

Just a week after it was stolen, and a few days after a huge reward was offered, the World War I memorial in the Mojave National Preserve in southern California may have been returned…maybe.

The caretakers for the site had already built a replacement, but had said they wouldn’t erect it without permission from the government, because to do so would have made them as bad as those who stole itRead more
