<\/p>\nMichael Weinstein claims to be an advocate of religious freedom, willing to give his “last drop of blood” even for beliefs with which he disagrees.<\/p>\n
Weinstein was recently proud to point out he had Penn Jillette, of Penn and Tiller, as a visitor at an MRFF rally.\u00a0 Penn had this to say:<\/p>\n

Fair enough.\u00a0 More interesting, however, is\u00a0what Jillette had to say about Christians, the very next day:\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Of course, one can certainly advocate religious freedom while disagreeing with the tenets of another theology.\u00a0 In fact, to be theologically and intellectually consistent, one pretty much\u00a0must<\/em>.\u00a0 It’s also true that the words of one’s friends are not necessarily one’s own words (and Twitter hardly the source of philosophical depth).\u00a0\u00a0A key issue\u00a0here is the trend<\/em> of\u00a0Weinstein (and his allies) not only disagreeing<\/em> with Christians, but also openly attacking<\/em> Christians and their beliefs.<\/p>\n How can you support the freedom to hold<\/em> beliefs, while simultaneously calling those beliefs dangerous and an aid to the enemy?\u00a0 Simple.\u00a0 You can’t<\/em>.\u00a0 It’s intellectually inconsistent.\u00a0 Weinstein says<\/em> he believes in religious freedom, but even he admitted the reason he created his group was to “battle…fundamentalists,” not support religious freedom.<\/p>\n Case in point:\u00a0 He just held a rally for his “religious freedom” group.\u00a0 Penn Jillette walked away saying he saw a lecture on “xtian bullies in the armed services”\u00a0— he didn’t say word one about “religious freedom.”\u00a0 Those words also aren’t the mission of the MRFF.\u00a0 They exist in its name only, and they are a nothing but a farce to Weinstein.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Michael Weinstein claims to be an advocate of religious freedom, willing to give his “last drop of blood” even for beliefs with which he disagrees.
