{"id":8575,"date":"2010-12-22T00:40:07","date_gmt":"2010-12-22T05:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=8575"},"modified":"2013-10-06T23:09:39","modified_gmt":"2013-10-07T02:09:39","slug":"the-slippery-slope-of-governing-sexuality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/22\/the-slippery-slope-of-governing-sexuality\/","title":{"rendered":"The Slippery Slope of Governing Sexuality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/id\/2277787\/pagenum\/all\/\">different sources<\/a>, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.albertmohler.com\/2010\/12\/15\/so-why-is-incest-wrong\/\">Dr. Albert Mohler<\/a>, have recently brought up the case of David Epstein, a professor of political science at Columbia University.\u00a0 Apparently Epstein was recently charged with incest over a sexual relationship with his adult daughter.<\/p>\n<p>The natural question, of course, is <em>why<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>If what two consenting adults do is no one else&#8217;s business, why is incest illegal? If reproduction is not germane,\u00a0then the traditional genetic argument fails.<\/p>\n<p>On what moral basis, then, is incest illegal?<\/p>\n<p>Over at the SoldiersPerspective, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.soldiersperspective.us\/2010\/12\/18\/dadt-repeal\/\">similar question is raised<\/a>:\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Where does it end? Where do we, as a country, draw the line to what is acceptable behavior in this country?&#8230;Will we allow familiar relationships that are currently illegal (incest)?\u00a0 Will we allow polygamy? Who is our government to decide which forms of sexually deviant behavior are acceptable and which are not? If we allow homosexuals to serve openly, we should also allow polygamy, incest, and dare I say it, beastiality&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>North of the border, where the homosexual agenda is a few years ahead of that in the US, Canadians are facing their own &#8220;next step.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0An article at the <em>Globe and Mail<\/em> notes that Canadians may not <em>like<\/em> polygamy, but they can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/report-on-business\/economy\/economy-lab\/the-economists\/we-may-not-like-polygamy-but-decriminalization-makes-sense\/article1840290\/\">no longer justify making it illegal<\/a>.\u00a0 (The Canadian military, which pays for sex\u00a0change operations, also just <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalpost.com\/news\/Dress+rules+established+transsexuals+military\/3942334\/story.html\">issued policies on how &#8220;transsexuals&#8221;\u00a0are supposed to dress<\/a> while serving.)<\/p>\n<p>These questions normally raise a &#8220;how dare you&#8221; from homosexual advocates.\u00a0 The problem with that response is it indicates they, too, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/id\/2278578\/\">have a &#8220;moral line&#8221; they won&#8217;t cross<\/a> &#8212; but its a moral line they can neither explain nor justify.<\/p>\n<p>By contrast, Christians generally have a clear moral line: One (male) husband, one (female) wife, and &#8220;let man not separate.&#8221;\u00a0 Deviations from that standard &#8212; like divorce &#8212; do not negate the standard itself.\u00a0 In fact, they <em>support<\/em> the need for one.<\/p>\n<p>Homosexuality is\u00a0increasingly being normalized in society.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s next?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few different sources, including Dr. Albert Mohler, have recently brought up the case of David Epstein, a professor of political science at Columbia University.\u00a0 Apparently Epstein was recently charged with incest over a sexual relationship with his adult daughter.
