Never one to miss a controversy, the media is expressing shock<\/a> that “the Army” would let only three hand-picked journalists attend General Stanley McChrystal’s retirement, scheduled this Friday.\u00a0 They fail to fully understand that a military retirement is not a government ceremony, and the retiree can do as much or as little as he chooses, and invite whomever he pleases.<\/p>\n

A military article also notes the continuing ministry of his brother<\/a>, Chaplain (Colonel) Scott McChrystal, US Army (retired).\u00a0 He recently spoke at a prayer breakfast at Fort Polk:<\/p>\n

Chaplain (Maj) Zan Sellers…spoke of the importance of prayer breakfasts.\u00a0 “They’re a different way to give the Soldiers some added encouragement and maybe words of wisdom,” said Sellers, “a way to help our Soldiers.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The article also noted McChrystal’s book, Daily Strength for the Battle<\/em>, which was “designed with the Soldier in mind:”<\/p>\n
