The homosexual advocacy American Military Partner Association (AMPA) has merged with OutServe-SLDN to form the Modern Military Association of America. (Apparently, being anything other than heterosexual is “modern.”) The group recently celebrated results from a Gallup poll that appear to show the majority of Americans supporting transgender service in the US military. From their release<\/a>:<\/p>\n

As this survey proves, an overwhelming majority of Americans \u2014 including a majority of veterans \u2014 agree that what matters is the ability to accomplish the mission, not someone\u2019s gender identity.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While that’s a convenient conclusion, the survey “proves” no such thing.<\/p>\n

The survey (available here<\/a>)\u00a0does<\/em> say that 71% of “national adults” “favor allowing openly transgender men and women to serve in the military?” But look at an important breakdown:<\/p>\n

Military veterans<\/strong>: 56% support, 43% oppose
\nNon-veterans:<\/strong> 73% support, 25% oppose<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It would seem people who have actually served<\/em> in the military are far more likely to oppose transgender service — in fact, it’s pretty close to evenly split, not an “overwhelming majority”.<\/p>\n

Anyone stop to wonder why that is?<\/p>\n

On a related topic, should transgenders be required to use a bathroom that matches their “birth” gender or their gender “identity”<\/a>?<\/p>\n

Birth gender<\/strong>: 51%
\nGender identity<\/strong>: 44%<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That’s even more evenly split. How could so many Americans who supposedly support transgenders not support their ability to use whatever bathroom they want?<\/p>\n

That tells you an important thing about those responding to the survey: When it comes to something that might affect them personally<\/em>, people are less<\/strong> likely to support it — whether its bathrooms or military service.\u00a0\u00a0That’s why veterans were less likely than non-veterans to support transgender service. Veterans understood what that actually meant<\/em>, and they’d actually be affected by the result.<\/p>\n

In an “abstract” sense, 73% of non-veterans say transgenders should be allowed to serve in the military. But on a practical level, a lot of those non-veterans apparently think transgenders should still be required to use bathrooms (and other facilities) consistent with their actual<\/em> biological gender, regardless of how they “feel.”<\/p>\n

In other words, the “overwhelming majority” of Americans support the policy put in place under President Trump.<\/p>\n

That’s got to get under the skin of the MMAA — but they’ll ignore that and play fun with numbers.<\/p>\n

The only thing the survey “proves” is Americans largely don’t care what someone else does — unless it affects them<\/em>. Then, suddenly, the question becomes much more personal — and “controversial.” Yet somehow “modern” sexuality advocates think that supports their cause.<\/p>\n
