For a few minutes, Michael “Mikey” Weinstein managed to stick to his scripted talking points that he was concerned about BGen John Teichert’s<\/a> alleged ‘abuse of authority’ with regard to religion — not<\/em> the religion itself.<\/em><\/p>\n

But that fell apart pretty quickly.<\/p>\n

First, Weinstein claimed it was a lack of “disclaimers,”<\/strong> then it was about the fact BGen Teichert’s beliefs were public<\/strong>. Then it was the fact BGen Teichert’s statements were “offensive<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Weinstein’s moving goalposts were intentional obfuscation — and a bit of scrambling for some “legitimate” complaints to obscure the blatant bigotry of the more direct “silence Teichert because of his Christianity”.<\/p>\n

But now Mikey Weinstein has clearly revealed what he really “did” — and it had nothing to do with regulations or Airmen with poor intestinal fortitude. When summarizing his “accomplishment,” Weinstein said his [formatting original]:<\/p>\n

Now, at least, Weinstein is confessing it has nothing<\/strong> to do with disclaimers or “offensive” content. Rather, Mikey Weinstein objects to BGen John Teichert’s theology<\/strong> — which Weinstein has oddly labeled a “nationalist agenda.” Its all part of a conspiracy, it seems.<\/p>\n

Mikey Weinstein used to speak in a more principled way, saying in 2006<\/a>:<\/p>\n

I would give my last drop of blood and my last breath, and I would commend my three children…to give their last drop of blood and their last breath to support the rights of these [evangelical Christian] people…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That recalls the overused quote that one may not agree with someone, but one should ‘defend to the death’ their right (to say it, etc).<\/p>\n

But Weinstein hasn’t repeated that quote in years, likely because it isn’t true and never was — as demonstrated by the cognitive dissonance he likely has with situations like this. BGen Teichert has done nothing but possessed<\/em> and discreetly exercised<\/em> beliefs<\/strong> with which Mikey Weinstein disagrees. Weinstein is excoriating a Christian because he is a Christian<\/strong>, nothing more.<\/p>\n

Rather that “support[ing] the rights of these people,” Mikey Weinstein is attacking<\/em> them.<\/p>\n

Why<\/strong><\/em>?<\/p>\n

The answer is clearer than you may think.<\/p>\n

Weinstein’s current accusation is a softer version of another famous Mikey Weinstein line<\/a>:<\/p>\n

In Plan A, evangelical Christians with a smile on their face will ask you to please, please, please accept their biblical worldview of Jesus. The problem with that is, inevitably, Plan A morphs into Plan B. They stop asking so nicely, and then you have the Holocaust, the pogroms, the Inquisition…<\/p>\n

This country is going through–right now–a transition from A to B.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mikey Weinstein truly, sincerely believes US Air Force BGen John Teichert — and every other evangelical Christian — is part of a plot to institute “Plan B.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mikey Weinstein is legitimately terrified<\/em> of the widespread Christian plot to take over the world — and he will stop at nothing to prevent it, US Constitution and religious liberty notwithstanding.<\/p>\n

And that should tell you just about everything you need to know about the mental state of one Michael “Mikey” Weinstein.<\/p>\n
