{"id":42477,"date":"2017-12-12T00:30:37","date_gmt":"2017-12-12T03:30:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/?p=42477"},"modified":"2017-12-12T02:15:57","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T05:15:57","slug":"widespread-public-support-for-col-bohannon-builds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/12\/widespread-public-support-for-col-bohannon-builds\/","title":{"rendered":"Widespread Public Support for Col Bohannon Builds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Air Force Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2017\/12\/07\/christian-groups-battle-to-save-colonels-career\/\">reports<\/a> that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frc.org\/op-eds\/support-grows-for-air-force-colonel-suspended-over-religious-beliefs-on-marriage\">Family Research Council<\/a> and American Family Association <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frc.org\/pressrelease\/frc-afa-deliver-77000-petitions-in-support-of-air-force-colonel-leland-bohannon\">delivered<\/a> a petition to the Air Force last week calling for the reversal of adverse action taken <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2017\/10\/16\/air-force-fires-col-leland-bohannon-for-not-affirming-homosexual-marriage\/\">against Col Leland Bohannon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The petition&#8230;was accompanied by a letter signed by a coalition of 31 religious liberty advocacy groups that also asks Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson to correct Air Force policy on religious expression.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianfighterpilot.com\/articles\/files\/bohannonletter.pdf\">letter (PDF)<\/a>, signed first by Gen Jerry Boykin, reiterated the legitimate <!--more-->observation that the Air Force <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2017\/11\/16\/case-of-fired-christian-col-bohannon-shows-limits-of-military-diversity-tolerance\/\">didn&#8217;t follow<\/a> its own policies or the law in its actions regarding Col Bohannon.<\/p>\n<p>While Col Bohannon has been <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2017\/11\/27\/military-gay-activists-jump-shark-in-attacks-on-col-leland-bohannon\/\">mocked by an LGBT chaplains group<\/a> &#8212; including by an active duty Air Force Lieutenant Colonel &#8212; he has been supported <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2017\/11\/27\/senators-scold-air-force-over-treatment-of-col-leland-bohannon-religious-liberty\/\">by US Senators<\/a> and a growing number of civil liberties groups.\u00a0 To this point, the US military has not responded.<\/p>\n<p>The singular question remains: What will the Air Force do?<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-like\" data-share=\"true\" data-show-faces=\"true\" data-size=\"small\" data-action=\"like\" data-layout=\"standard\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\"><strong>ADVERTISEMENT<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><!-- blogpost --><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-ad-slot=\"2728423835\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6450825356098669\"><\/ins><script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});<\/script><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Air Force Times reports that the Family Research Council and American Family Association delivered a petition to the Air Force last week calling for the reversal of adverse action taken against Col Leland Bohannon.
