The US Air Force sent a strong message to Michael “Mikey” Weinstein recently when it elevated the officer he’d demanded be “aggressively punished.”<\/p>\n
In January of this year LtGen Steven “Killer” Kwast was quoted in a local Alabama paper<\/a> saying, among other things, that<\/p>\n I\u2019m not so arrogant as to think that I can make any plans unless God\u2019s in it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n LtGen Kwast was the commander and president of the Air Force’s Air University; essentially, the academic arm of the Air Force. Because LtGen Kwast had the audacity to mention God, Mikey Weinstein filed an IG complaint and demanded that he be “aggressively punished”.<\/p>\n Instead, the Air Force responded by promoting him.<\/p>\n LtGen Steven Kwast is now the MAJCOM commander for Air Education and Training Command (AETC), meaning he essentially now oversees all<\/em> training and education in the US Air Force. Not only that, but when he assumed command last week<\/a>, Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen David Goldfein extolled LtGen Kwast’s virtues as a leader [emphasis added]:<\/p>\n “When it was time to select the new AETC commander, General Steven Kwast was the obvious choice<\/strong>,\u201d Goldfein said. \u201cIn Kwast, we have an Airman whose resume strikes a balance between combat warrior<\/strong>, intellectual<\/strong> and leader.<\/strong> And perhaps most importantly, he exudes humility, credibility<\/strong> and approachability.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n It seems complaints by Mikey Weinstein don’t carry the weight or stigma he once thought they did.<\/p>\n He has shown you, O man, what is good; ADVERTISEMENT<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
