It is therefore a time when Muslims reflect upon the wisdom and guidance that comes with faith, and the responsibility that human beings have to one another, and to God.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more-->In a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/assets\/documents\/Ramadan_Message_of_President_Obama_English.pdf\">message<\/a> that sometimes seemed to\u00a0lean a bit\u00a0more on the political than the faithful, President Barack Obama lauded Islam&#8217;s<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He mentioned the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Israel\/Palestinian conflict, his Cairo speech, and reiterated his desire for a &#8220;new beginning&#8221; between America and Muslims before closing with the traditional Islamic &#8220;May God&#8217;s peace be upon you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><font size=\"1\">Also noted at the <a href=\"http:\/\/religionclause.blogspot.com\/2009\/08\/president-sends-greetings-to-muslims-as.html\">Religion Clause<\/a>.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Barack Obama delivered the annual American Ramadan message this past week.
