Transgender activists were caught off guard on Tuesday when the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said the “delay” in transgenders being allowed to enter the US military wasn’t due to feelings, religion, or bigotry — but science and medicine.<\/p>\n
Testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee for his reappointment as Vice Chairman, US Air Force Gen Paul Selva said<\/a> [emphasis added]<\/p>\n Our decision to delay the accessions of transgender individuals into the services was largely based on a disagreement on the science<\/strong> of how mental health care and hormone therapy for transgender individuals would help solve the medical issues<\/strong> that are associated with gender dysphoria.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Read that carefully. Gen Selva said the current treatment for the medical condition currently called “gender dysphoria” not only isn’t settled,<\/em> there’s disagreement that it even works.<\/em><\/p>\n (That comes as no surprise to transgender activists, who have admitted<\/a>, for example, they don’t know the long term effects of cross-gender hormone treatment — because the medical community hasn’t studied it<\/em>.)<\/p>\n Gen Selva also related a “host of other issues,” including integrating those who “present” as one gender while physically being another.<\/p>\n Remember, Secretary of Defense James Mattis has already said<\/a><\/p>\n he believes the department must measure \u201ceach policy decision against one standard\u201d — whether it affects the ability of the military to defend the nation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n If the military has to divert resources to deal with troops’ medical issues over known problems with science and medicine, and if it has to logistically attempt to overcome a “host of other issues”, what effect do you think that would have on the ability of the military to defend the nation?<\/p>\n Gen Selva isn’t citing mere pragmatic problems that can be overcome with a simple wave of the hand. And as noted previously, there are significant potential impacts to religious liberty<\/a> within the military if transgenderism becomes “policy.”<\/p>\n Openly accepting and supporting the enlistment of transgenders in the US military is not a “non-event.”<\/p>\n Activists know that if the “disruption” argument begins to carry the day, their social experimentation within the US military may end. As a result, sexual activists are now showing desperation, with Ashley Broadway recently jumping the shark, comically claiming there was “unequivocal proof<\/a>” that transgenders “strengthen the military.”<\/p>\n A larger Navy fleet, more fighter pilots, a new tactical vehicle — there are many things that could “strengthen” the US military by their mere presence<\/em> in it.
