Patrick Vandurme&#8230;lasted for about an hour, giving Soldiers a chance to listen to verses from the Bible, pray, and talk to Chap. Vandurme as needed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Officers and enlisted lauded the opportunity to exercise their faith <!--more-->and take a moment for rest and &#8220;spiritual&#8221; training, saying it was &#8220;uplifting and good for morale,&#8221; as well as reassuring soldiers<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>that they would always have somewhere to worship, whether in garrison, training, or deployed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Chaplain noted his call to serve all:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Also, the specific religion a Soldier believes in doesn&#8217;t matter; I&#8217;m here for every Soldier, no matter what their religious preference is,&#8221; said the chaplain.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Though there are heavy demands&#8211;and restrictions due to military necessity&#8211;in training and combat, the US military makes a consistent and concerted effort to ensure the &#8220;spiritual welfare&#8221; of its troops, which includes ensuring their freedom free exercise.\u00a0 Its Chaplains are the core supporting that pillar of wellness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to a US Army news release, members of the 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, found time to have a Bible study after training was finished for the day.
