Michael “Mikey” Weinstein learned early on that emailing threats to this site — a lot<\/em> of emails<\/a> — was ineffective. When his keyboard courage failed, Weinstein tried to have someone else<\/em> do his work for him: His lawyers then threatened to sue ChristianFighterPilot.com<\/a>. That, too, was futile, because — lawyer or not — Weinstein had no real argument beyond “Mikey doesn’t like you.”\u00a0\u00a0Mikey Weinstein was doing little more than being a bully, and when his targets resisted,\u00a0he quite naturally\u00a0failed to follow through on his threats.<\/p>\n

\"\"When his own courage failed, and when his lawyer subsequently failed, Mikey Weinstein then sought the aid of the US government to further his harassment.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Mikey Weinstein has sent hundreds, if not thousands, of messages to the US military trying to get the military to join his attacks on ChristianFighterPilot.com. Most of his complaints have been passive-aggressive, as suits his style. A few have been demands.<\/p>\n

One was a plea.<\/p>\n

In 2013, the US Air Force censored an article written by an Air Force chaplain<\/a>. The incident would ultimately come to represent<\/a> one of the most effective stands against Mikey Weinstein by groups defending military religious freedom. The initial incident was covered here, in which this site noted the Air Force had chosen to publish an atheist<\/em> article but prohibit a Christian<\/em> one.<\/p>\n

After the article went up on this site, Mikey Weinstein wrote an email to Air Force Chief of Staff Gen Mark Welsh, acting Secretary of Defense Eric Fanning, the JAG of the Air Force Gen Richard Harding, and Air Force Chief of Chaplains Howard Stendahl. He demanded — no, he pled<\/em> — for them to take action against this site.<\/p>\n

Weinstein’s plea was different than many of his other emails to the Air Force, which were mostly forwards of columns from this site. Indeed, in this email, written the same morning the article was published, Weinstein actually tried to defend his position — the position criticized in that ChristianFighterPilot.com article [all formatting, including ellipses, Mikey Weinstein original; sic<\/em> throughout]:<\/p>\n

………Col. [redacted], Commander of [redacted] and Commander of the [redacted] made ABSOLUTELY the right call here….in full consultation with his SJA, [redacted]…..and yet [redacted] the “Christian fighter pilot” yet once AGAIN for the umpteenth time PUBLICLY denigrates the command decision of the USAF here?!…and with complete IMPUNITY?!?……MRFF has 42 USAF officer and NCO\/airmen clients on this matter at [redacted] and 17 of them are practicing Christians (13 Protestants and 4 Roman Catholics)….they were ALL deeply hurt by Col. [redacted] column…….<\/p>\n

with the proper and timely decision to pull it down by Col. [redacted] they are reinvigorated with confidence…………..YOUR allowance of [redacted] to publicly protest via the internet the Commander’s correct decision here is astonishing?!?…how can you all just sit back and permit this type of PUBLIC “dissing” by a clear subordinate??!!??…do you see the horrendous precedent you’re creating?!…….<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mikey Weinstein clearly felt his position was threatened — and the only way to protect his “victory” over religious freedom was to have the US Air Force take action against ChristianFighterPilot.com. Weinstein ended his email with a plea. Using ellipses as only Mikey Weinstein can, he wrote:<\/p>\n

……..DO SOMETHING!!…..plz…Mikey…..<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Air Force did<\/em> do something, but it wasn’t what he wanted.<\/p>\n

The Air Force rejected Mikey Weinstein’s argument, reversed itself, and re-published the Air Force chaplain’s article<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pouting, Mikey Weinstein eventually said the Air Force “cav[ed]” to “pernicious, fundamentalist Christian pressure<\/a>” — pressure to defend religious liberty and fight discrimination, that is.<\/p>\n

Despite threats, lawyers, and pleas to the Air Force, military religious freedom — and this site — prevailed.<\/p>\n

For a period of time ChristianFighterPilot.com was one of the most read sites at the Pentagon. Perhaps Mikey Weinstein’s spam to the leadership of the US military there had something to do with that. Regardless, his harassment — his repeated attacks attempting to have the government take action against this site, even if only to\u00a0get him to stop spamming them\u00a0— appears to have failed spectacularly in this case.<\/p>\n

That Mikey Weinstein would stoop to begging\u00a0indicates even he saw it coming.<\/p>\n

It would seem Mikey Weinstein was afraid — and he does <\/em>have something to fear.\u00a0 Mikey Weinstein knows ChristianFighterPilot.com, among other more influential sources, is influencing Air Force policy on religious liberty for good<\/em>.<\/p>\n

And Mikey Weinstein is losing.<\/p>\n

Michael “Mikey” Weinstein’s lawyers once claimed ChristianFighterPilot.com was “obsessive” about Weinstein and his MRFF. Naturally, ChristianFighterPilot.com is about military religious freedom — and it is surely relevant when Mikey Weinstein, a public<\/em> figure, makes a living by publicly<\/em> attacking religious liberty, as he so frequently does.<\/p>\n

On the contrary, Mikey Weinstein is “obsessive”<\/strong> with a few individual US troops, veterans, and even a couple of civilians — most of whom are private citizens unknown to any outside their circle of friends. Weinstein and those associated with his MRFF have attacked them, their employers, their families — sometimes even their children — in ongoing campaigns of harassment<\/strong> that have sometimes spanned years.<\/p>\n
