{"id":37057,"date":"2016-11-01T00:30:28","date_gmt":"2016-11-01T03:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/?p=37057"},"modified":"2016-11-15T01:54:14","modified_gmt":"2016-11-15T04:54:14","slug":"is-mikey-weinstein-really-a-usafa-honor-graduate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2016\/11\/01\/is-mikey-weinstein-really-a-usafa-honor-graduate\/","title":{"rendered":"Is Mikey Weinstein Really a USAFA Honor Graduate?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-37151\" src=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyhonor.jpg\" alt=\"mikeyhonor\" width=\"880\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyhonor.jpg 880w, https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyhonor-300x95.jpg 300w, https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyhonor-768x244.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px\" \/>Recently, a brief article addressed a fairly simple question: <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2016\/10\/10\/did-mikey-weinstein-serve-in-combat\/\">Did Mikey Weinstein Serve in Combat?<\/a> The basic answer was &#8220;who cares?&#8221; &#8212; except in those cases in which Weinstein himself tries to play the military\/combat card.<\/p>\n<p>That <em>was<\/em> going to be the end of it.\u00a0 But Mikey didn&#8217;t like it.<\/p>\n<p>Weinstein&#8217;s lawyer, Randal &#8220;Randy&#8221; Mathis, sent a letter the next day expressing Weinstein&#8217;s displeasure with one of the closing paragraphs of that article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You wrote that Mr. Weinstein was not an &#8220;Honor Graduate&#8221; of the United States Air Force Academy.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If there&#8217;s one thing that will raise Michael &#8220;Mikey&#8221; Weinstein&#8217;s ire, it&#8217;s an affront to his ego &#8212; but that&#8217;s not exactly what the article said [emphasis added]:\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A\u00a0<strong>better question would be why<\/strong> Mikey Weinstein (and now his son) continue to say Mikey Weinstein was an \u201chonor graduate\u201d of the US Air Force Academy.<\/p>\n<p>If you were to <strong>try to look up what that means<\/strong>, you\u2019d find <strong>the \u201ctitle\u201d doesn\u2019t exist<\/strong>, because the US Air Force Academy <strong>doesn\u2019t <em>have<\/em> \u201chonor graduates.\u201d<\/strong> Now, why would the Weinsteins feel the need to spruce up Mikey\u2019s r\u00e9sum\u00e9?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Perhaps Mathis&#8217; inability to accurately articulate a claim is why he&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2013\/05\/13\/aclj-slams-weinstein-as-a-nut-legal-hack\/\">only managed to <strong>lose<\/strong> the lawsuits<\/a> he&#8217;s filed for Mikey Weinstein.<\/p>\n<p>As accurately stated, the US Air Force Academy neither describes nor defines\u00a0the\u00a0honor Mikey Weinstein claims &#8212; at least not in any public form. Further, if you enter &#8220;USAFA honor graduate&#8221;\u00a0in your favorite internet search engine, almost every single result will be &#8220;<strong>USAFA Honor Graduate and MRFF Founder and President Michael L. &#8220;Mikey&#8221; Weinstein<\/strong>.&#8221; (One poor guy named Troy made the unfortunate mistake\u00a0of claiming he was a USAFA &#8220;honor graduate for athletics.&#8221;)\u00a0 Even\u00a0Weinstein&#8217;s own classmates &#8212; a few of whom are pretty famous &#8212; don&#8217;t make the claim, at least not with Weinstein&#8217;s regularity.\u00a0 (See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/senatorjones\">Daryl Jones<\/a>, for example.)<\/p>\n<p>Still, Mikey Weinstein is <em>so<\/em> proud of his &#8220;USAFA Honor Graduate&#8221; claim that he&#8217;ll sic lawyers on you if you question it.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, Randy Mathis to the rescue.<\/p>\n<p>There are two important points in\u00a0Mathis&#8217; response:\u00a0 First, he\u00a0conceded USAFA does <em>not<\/em>, in fact, have an honor graduate program &#8212; but he says they <em>used<\/em> to.\u00a0 Fair enough.\u00a0 Second, he seems to acknowledge there is\u00a0no public information to support that claim. Thus,\u00a0Mathis kindly provided a partial copy of the US Air Force Academy\u00a0graduation program from 1977:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-37071\" src=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog1.jpg\" alt=\"mikeyprog1\" width=\"880\" height=\"488\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog1.jpg 880w, https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog1-300x166.jpg 300w, https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog1-768x426.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px\" \/>He even pre-highlighted it:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-37072\" src=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog2.jpg\" alt=\"mikeyprog2\" width=\"880\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog2.jpg 880w, https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog2-300x95.jpg 300w, https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog2-768x244.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px\" \/>Now we know <em>what<\/em> Weinstein uses to justify claiming\u00a0the &#8220;honor,&#8221;\u00a0but we still don&#8217;t know what it <em>is<\/em> &#8212; because, as stated already, even the Air Force Academy <strong>doesn&#8217;t define it<\/strong>.\u00a0Randy failed to provide an Air Force description of any\u00a0title or graduation honor &#8212; but\u00a0he\u00a0provided enough\u00a0information to figure it out.<\/p>\n<p>Mathis also sent a copy of Weinstein&#8217;s Graduate Education letter &#8212; something USAFA <em>does<\/em> still have, though it is now known as a &#8220;Blue Chip&#8221; letter (as referenced in <a href=\"http:\/\/static.e-publishing.af.mil\/production\/1\/usafa\/publication\/usafai36-163\/usafai36-163.pdf\">USAFAI 36-163,<\/a> which is the only place USAFA <em>mentions<\/em>, but does not\u00a0<em>define<\/em>,\u00a0an &#8220;<strong>Honor Graduate Program<\/strong>&#8220;):<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-37073\" src=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog3.jpg\" alt=\"mikeyprog3\" width=\"880\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog3.jpg 880w, https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog3-300x118.jpg 300w, https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikeyprog3-768x302.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px\" \/>(Mikey, you should really tell Randy to redact your Social Security Number <em>before<\/em> he sends these letters out.)<\/p>\n<p>The Blue Chip letter lets a USAFA graduate know about their eligibility for future graduate education under military programs.\u00a0 What&#8217;s the criteria? Though it may vary from one year to the next, it is generally a class standing\u00a0in the top 20%.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_37010\" style=\"width: 227px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-37010\" class=\"wp-image-37010 \" src=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikey1.jpg\" alt=\"mikey1\" width=\"217\" height=\"303\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikey1.jpg 375w, https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mikey1-215x300.jpg 215w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 217px) 100vw, 217px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-37010\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mikey &#8220;Motor Mouth&#8221; Weinstein, USAFA Class of 1977<\/p><\/div>\n<p>There were 867 graduates in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usafa.org\/ClassData\/Index\/1977\">class of 1977<\/a>. Weinstein&#8217;s program shows graduates up to number 175 with an asterisk by their name &#8212; approximating 20%. &#8220;*Michael Louis\u00a0Weinstein&#8221; was number 130.<\/p>\n<p>In other words,\u00a0it seems likely Mikey Weinstein was a &#8220;USAFA Honor Graduate&#8221; because he graduated in the top 20% of his class.<\/p>\n<p>Now, that&#8217;s not necessarily something to scoff at. Being tail-end Charlie at the US Air Force Academy is still better than <em>graduating<\/em> from some other colleges.\u00a0 That wasn&#8217;t the question, though.\u00a0 The question was <em>why<\/em> Mikey\u00a0Weinstein and his supporters <em>incessantly<\/em> trumpet\u00a0what\u00a0we\u00a0now know is nothing more than his college class standing.\u00a0\u00a0It&#8217;s one thing to note your &#8220;elite&#8221; graduation status in a biographical sketch,\u00a0but to brandish a college transcript\u00a0at every opportunity seems\u00a0pretty pedestrian. (Remember, the entire reason for this conversation was Curtis Weinstein using Mikey&#8217;s &#8220;honor graduate&#8221; status in response to an attack over his lack of combat experience.\u00a0 Now that we know it&#8217;s his class rank, what in the world does that have to do with combat?)<\/p>\n<p>After all, Mikey Weinstein is over 60 years old. Does he really believe\u00a0anyone\u00a0<em>cares<\/em> what his class rank was 40 years ago?<\/p>\n<p>Actually, he probably <em>doesn&#8217;t<\/em> believe anyone cares &#8212; which is why he uses the vague phrase of &#8220;honor&#8221; that, until today, was <strong>undefined<\/strong> and <strong>unverifiable<\/strong> by\u00a0generally accessible public means.\u00a0\u00a0&#8220;Honor graduate&#8221;\u00a0<strong>sounds<\/strong> very grand and noble, though, meaning Mikey Weinstein can &#8220;spruce up&#8221; his r\u00e9sum\u00e9\u00a0with a term for which\u00a0people couldn&#8217;t\u00a0find a definition\u00a0if they wanted to.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, it all boils down to Mikey Weinstein&#8217;s ego.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, with the exception of the awkward wording of the Blue Chip program, it does not appear the US Air Force Academy\u00a0recognizes or categorizes graduates below &#8220;<strong>distinguished graduate<\/strong>&#8221; (top 10%, as described in detail in <a href=\"http:\/\/static.e-publishing.af.mil\/production\/1\/usafa\/publication\/usafai36-3510\/usafai36-3510.pdf\">USAFAI 36-3510<\/a>) any longer, though\u00a0there are other &#8220;honors&#8221; with other criteria.<\/p>\n<p>In attempting to defend his <strong>oft-repeated<\/strong> <strong>but never-verified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militaryreligiousfreedom.org\/about\/michael-l-mikey-weinstein\/\">bio<\/a><\/strong> &#8212; and his ego &#8212;<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Mikey Weinstein has now admitted his status as an Air Force Academy &#8220;Honor Graduate&#8221; reflects little more than graduating\u00a0in the 80th percentile at USAFA.<\/p>\n<p>This discussion\u00a0is actually important and very revealing\u00a0&#8212;\u00a0because it is yet\u00a0another demonstration of how\u00a0<strong>Mikey Weinstein majors in undefined terms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Whether its &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2010\/03\/05\/weinstein-defines-religions-assigns-followers\/\">dominionist Christian<\/a>,&#8221; &#8220;MRFF client,&#8221;\u00a0USAFA &#8220;Honor Graduate,&#8221; or a host of other terms and phrases, <strong>Mikey Weinstein is intentionally\u00a0vague<\/strong> when it suits his agenda &#8212; in other words, when he wants to make something <em>sound<\/em> better than it actually <em>is<\/em>.\u00a0 When called to explain what he <em>means<\/em> by these terms, he&#8217;s intentionally obtuse and difficult to\u00a0pin down (but every now and then someone <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2012\/07\/20\/michael-weinstein-pens-self-indicting-diatribe\/\">finally succeeds<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Mikey Weinstein\u00a0has <em>demonstrated<\/em> a penchant for playing loose with the truth &#8212; or <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2010\/03\/01\/weinstein-claims-credit-for-bracd-unit\/\"><strong>outright lying<\/strong><\/a> (more <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2014\/02\/06\/mikey-weinstein-gets-creative-with-the-facts-again\/\">than once<\/a>) &#8212; so he should be given no quarter in his use of vague, unsubstantiated, and generally unverifiable claims.\u00a0 When Mikey Weinstein says something, he <em>cannot be taken at his word<\/em>.\u00a0 Weinstein must be made to support his claims &#8212; and if he cannot, he should be treated the same way any other deceptive person is treated when they make baseless accusations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mikey Weinstein claims\u00a0US military Christians are &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2010\/05\/12\/osama-bin-laden-confirms-weinsteins-claim\/\">endanger[ing] American troops<\/a>&#8220;?\u00a0 Provide evidence, Mikey &#8212;\u00a0because in more than 10 years you <em>never<\/em> have.<\/li>\n<li>US troops are crying out to Mikey Weinstein\u00a0for help?\u00a0 Provide evidence those complaints don&#8217;t come from those\u00a0who <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2011\/01\/31\/mrff-pr-machine-works-overtime-against-mcclary\/\">already work for the MRFF<\/a> &#8212; as they have in the past &#8212; or are <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2014\/03\/26\/mikey-weinstein-teams-up-with-casey-on-aclj-radio-show\/\">related to Weinstein<\/a> &#8212; as they were in the past &#8212; and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2013\/01\/08\/atheist-soldier-mrff-member-goes-anonymous-for-jesus-manga\/\">complaint wasn&#8217;t manufactured<\/a> &#8212; as it was in the past.<\/li>\n<li>Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for the eighth time?\u00a0 Show us the MRFF didn&#8217;t <strong>nominate <em>itself<\/em><\/strong> this time &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2014\/07\/03\/report-mikey-weinstein-cashing-in-using-charity\/\">as it has\u00a0in the past<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Dozens or even hundreds of people have &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2016\/10\/07\/mikey-weinstein-attacks-air-force-officer-for-saying-hes-christian\/\">retained<\/a>&#8221; the MRFF?\u00a0 <em>Definitely<\/em> need proof of that, Mikey.\u00a0 No one trusts you enough to just grant that 100 people spontaneously complained about something &#8212; or even that they&#8217;ve &#8220;retained&#8221; you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It seems Mikey Weinstein has been pinned down again, revealing that his oft-vaunted accolade of\u00a0&#8220;honor graduate&#8221; &#8212; or &#8220;blue chip graduate,&#8221; which doesn&#8217;t sound quite as lofty\u00a0&#8212;\u00a0means nothing more than being\u00a0#130\u00a0in his class.\u00a0 Nice work in college, Mikey, but the class ranking found on your college transcript doesn&#8217;t really mean much anymore.\u00a0 Care to join the adult table?<\/p>\n<p>Given his apparent desire to clear up his record, perhaps we can now\u00a0get Weinstein to define\u00a0some of his other vague and unverified statements, like his\u00a0very nuanced claim he &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2012\/10\/30\/michael-weinstein-backs-down-on-years-of-jag-service\/\">served for more than 10 years with the\u00a0JAG Corps<\/a>.&#8221;\u00a0That assertion would take some amazing <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2012\/10\/30\/michael-weinstein-backs-down-on-years-of-jag-service\/\">semantic and mathematical gymnastics<\/a> to be accurate. (Mikey Weinstein graduated law school\u00a0in 1981, and he\u00a0indicates he entered civilian life in 1987 &#8212; which an &#8220;honorable graduate&#8221;\u00a0would admit\u00a0isn&#8217;t 10 years.)<\/p>\n<p>Weinstein released an academic record to prove this point about graduation. Perhaps he could clear up his actual career history by having Randy send us\u00a0his DD-214, which would also likely show Mikey Weinstein left the US Air Force as a Captain &#8212; something else in which there&#8217;s no shame, but he&#8217;s been shy about admitting.<\/p>\n<p>One final note: Within his letter, Randy Mathis meandered to claims this site is &#8220;obsessive about&#8221; Weinstein and his MRFF &#8212; which again shows\u00a0Randy&#8217;s inability to observe or articulate the root issue.<\/p>\n<p>More relevant is <strong>Mikey Weinstein&#8217;s obsession with ChristianFighterPilot.com<\/strong>.\u00a0 It started\u00a0years ago with Mikey Weinstein <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/2010\/06\/03\/weinstein-fails-to-intimidate-with-lawsuit-military-complaint\/\">threatening this site with a lawsuit<\/a><\/strong>, and it continues\u00a0through today, with Weinstein constantly complaining,\u00a0criticizing, and making threats over this site.\u00a0 Thanks to Randy&#8217;s inspiration, some fascinating and entertaining displays of Mikey Weinstein&#8217;s &#8220;obsession&#8221; will be discussed here in the near future, so stay tuned.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, Mikey &#8212; to translate this to your language: You&#8217;ve just been schooled by a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">distinguished<\/span> graduate<\/strong> of the US Air Force Academy.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Update<\/strong><\/span>: Mikey still isn&#8217;t happy.
