\"praydeploy\"Despite\u00a0one ill-fated and ill-willed attempt<\/a> to keep\u00a0some US troops\u00a0from joining together in prayer, the US military celebrated the National Day of Prayer around the world.<\/p>\n

Renowned Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias spoke at a National Prayer Breakfast gathering at Ramstein Air Base, Germany<\/a>, to more than 300 US troops, their families, and civilians.\u00a0 There and at a simultaneous symposium he talked on ‘Where is God in Suffering?’ and\u00a0 <\/p>\n

directly addressed arguments against the existence of God, purpose and transcendent meaning lodged by such prominent philosophers as David Hume and Friedrich Nietzsche as well as strident \u201cnew atheists\u201d like Richard Dawkins…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At Seymour-Johnson AFB<\/a>, speaker Stephen Scoggins reminded listeners<\/p>\n

when all is lost, there is still hope; sometimes the best place to be is on our knees with open arms and open hearts, asking and listening for guidance.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At the Pentagon<\/a>, the National Day of Prayer was “interfaith” and<\/p>\n

capp[ed] a week of services for a number of faiths, including Sikh, Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish and Christian.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In another notable event, retired US Marine Lt Clebe McClary — once declared not a “true” Christian<\/a> by Michael “Mikey” Weinstein’s MRFF — spoke at a Pierce County Prayer Breakfast<\/a>\u00a0in Washington state.<\/p>\n

Other events were held at Fort Rucker<\/a>, Naval Support Activity Bethesda<\/a>,\u00a0Joint Base Lewis-McChord<\/a>, Camp Zama<\/a>, Japan, and\u00a0Kadena Air Base,<\/a> Japan.<\/p>\n
