{"id":34197,"date":"2015-12-15T00:30:00","date_gmt":"2015-12-15T03:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/?p=34197"},"modified":"2016-11-24T22:24:48","modified_gmt":"2016-11-25T01:24:48","slug":"franklin-graham-defends-praying-usafa-cadets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2015\/12\/15\/franklin-graham-defends-praying-usafa-cadets\/","title":{"rendered":"Franklin Graham Defends Praying USAFA Cadets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Franklin Graham <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FranklinGraham\/posts\/1056858961036951\">took to Facebook<\/a> last weekend to defend US Air Force Academy cadets who, once again, were under fire for their religious expression by none other than Michael &#8220;Mikey&#8221; Weinstein.\u00a0 In a post with 75,000 likes and more than 18,000 comments, Graham called\u00a0out the\u00a0&#8220;Atheist Mikey Weinstein and his ironically named Military Religious Freedom Foundation:&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[Weinstein] said Air Force players participating in public prayer \u201cis a scandalous outrage\u201d and calls it \u201ca disgrace\u201d and \u201ca putrid example of Christian supremacy.\u201d Since when is voluntary prayer scandalous or putrid? The Air Force Academy now says that it will conduct an inquiry into the situation. I call this a foul! Join me in praying that the religious freedoms of these young men will not be taken away as <!--more-->a result of one bitter person bent on removing God and His Son Jesus Christ from everything in this country. America owes its blessings to Almighty God\u2014and our founding fathers knew that.<\/p>\n<p>Pray that the Falcons will be allowed to continue their voluntary time of prayer\u2014and let them know your support and encouragement in the comments below.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Weinstein pontificated on the issue again on Monday, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/stories\/2015\/12\/14\/1460121\/-Air-Force-Academy-football-prayers-openly-defy-repudiate-U-S-law\">calling the cadets&#8217; prayers illegal<\/a> in a blog at the left-leaning Daily Kos that garnered less than 30 &#8220;likes&#8221; and a multitude of comments from &#8216;progressives&#8217;\u00a0disagreeing with him.<\/p>\n<p>The Colorado Springs Gazette, local to USAFA, described Weinstein&#8217;s demands as a &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/gazette.com\/editorial-activist-takes-on-right-to-pray\/article\/1565379\">perversion of the First Amendment<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Weinstein is on the wrong side of liberty, again, but may be drawing enough financial support from fellow anti-Christianists to pad his &#8220;charity&#8217;s&#8221;
