Nicholas Giglio resulted in him colliding with his flight lead, Capt. Lee Bryant, near the end of a night sortie over the waters just east of Charleston, SC, <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/16\/f-16s-collide-pilot-missing\/\">in October<\/a>.\u00a0 Giglio died in the collision; Bryant landed his crippled aircraft.\u00a0 It appears that Giglio, an inexperienced F-16 pilot, may have been &#8220;distracted&#8221; by a radar problem and failed to properly execute a rejoin on this flight lead, leading to the collision.\u00a0 Giglio is one of several fighter pilots to die in night training accidents\u00a0in 2009, including <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2009\/06\/23\/f-16-crashes-pilot-missing\/\">one in Utah<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/03\/crew-mistake-led-to-f-15e-crash-in-afghanistan\/\">one in Afghanistan<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As noted earlier, Giglio was held up as a <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/18\/missing-f-16-pilot-presumed-dead\/\">man of God and family<\/a>\u00a0by his Pastor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Accident Investigation Board has determined that pilot error on the part of Capt.
