{"id":29895,"date":"2014-09-18T00:30:29","date_gmt":"2014-09-18T03:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=29895"},"modified":"2016-11-25T01:13:27","modified_gmt":"2016-11-25T04:13:27","slug":"evangelical-leaders-defend-religious-freedom-for-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2014\/09\/18\/evangelical-leaders-defend-religious-freedom-for-all\/","title":{"rendered":"Evangelical Leaders: Defend Religious Freedom for All"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the American Enterprise Institute&#8217;s Evangelical Leadership Summit in Washington, DC, a panel of evangelical leaders advocated for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/defend-freedom-for-non-christians-all-benefit-from-religious-liberty-evangelical-experts-say-126262\/\">Christians to defend the religious liberty<\/a> of <em>all<\/em>, because religious freedom benefits <em>everyone<\/em>. Panel member Russell Moore of the Southern Baptist Convention&#8217;s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission said<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>the burden to fight for religious liberties is not just about Judeo-Christian beliefs, but that Evangelicals are called to fight for freedoms for all religious motivations. He also stated that evangelicals should bring back the use of the term &#8220;separation of church and state,&#8221; but <!--more-->in a different context.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It doesn&#8217;t mean that church and government should be apart,&#8221; Moore said. &#8220;But that the state is limited and doesn&#8217;t have lordship and direction over the church.&#8221; Moore purported that evangelicals should champion the religious freedoms of all religions, otherwise evangelicals are &#8220;not only willing to be persecuted, but willing to be persecutor.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s absolutely correct.
