{"id":29291,"date":"2014-05-29T00:45:22","date_gmt":"2014-05-29T03:45:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=29291"},"modified":"2016-11-25T22:51:30","modified_gmt":"2016-11-26T01:51:30","slug":"air-force-publishes-afi-1-2-commanders-responsibilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2014\/05\/29\/air-force-publishes-afi-1-2-commanders-responsibilities\/","title":{"rendered":"Air Force Publishes AFI 1-2, Commander&#8217;s Responsibilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To mixed reviews, the Air Force Chief of Staff <a href=\"http:\/\/www.af.mil\/News\/ArticleDisplay\/tabid\/223\/Article\/484930\/csaf-provides\">has published<\/a> a second Air Force Instruction, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.af.mil\/Portals\/1\/documents\/csaf\/afi1_2.pdf\">AFI 1-2, Commander&#8217;s Responsibilities<\/a>, which lays out the expectations and responsibilities of commanders.<\/p>\n<p>To some extent, it may permit the Air Force to describe why commanders get fired. As opposed to &#8220;loss of confidence,&#8221; the AF can now say they violated a specific provision of AFI 1-2.<\/p>\n<p>The AFI contains a few notable phrases, starting with a quote from Title 10 [emphasis added]:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>2.2. &#8230;All commanding officers and others in authority in the Air Force are required:<\/p>\n<p>(3) to guard <strong>against and suppress all dissolute and immoral practices<\/strong>, and to correct, according to the laws <!--more-->and regulations of the Air force, all persons who are guilty of them&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>2.3.
