{"id":29153,"date":"2014-05-14T00:45:24","date_gmt":"2014-05-14T03:45:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=29153"},"modified":"2016-11-25T22:56:05","modified_gmt":"2016-11-26T01:56:05","slug":"general-welsh-on-the-passing-of-a-man-of-honor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2014\/05\/14\/general-welsh-on-the-passing-of-a-man-of-honor\/","title":{"rendered":"General Welsh on the Passing of a Man of Honor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>General Mark Welsh, Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.af.mil\/News\/Commentaries\/Display\/tabid\/271\/Article\/484692\/a-man-of-honor.aspx\">eulogized Col Jim Kasler<\/a>, a World War II B-29 tail gunner, Korean war ace jet pilot, and POW during Vietnam who passed away on April 24th:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In addition to being the only man awarded the Air Force Cross three times, Kasler was decorated twice with the Silver Star, a Legion of Merit, nine awards of the Distinguished Flying Cross, two Bronze Star Medals, two Purple Hearts and 11 Air Medal awards.<\/p>\n<p>But what was most important to him was <!--more-->his honor, and return with honor he did. Those who knew him, say he was a humble man, who never expected to be honored.
