Jay Sekulow<\/em>: Do you think [Christian] ‘fundamentalists and dominionists’ have the right to serve in the United States military?<\/p>\n

Mikey Weinstein<\/em>: They do not<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This from the guy who claims to defend “religious freedom” and frequently cites Article VI of the US Constitution<\/a>, which ends with: <\/p>\n

No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mikey Weinstein wants<\/em> a “religious test.” If you’re not the right kind<\/em> of Christian — using his<\/em> definition — he thinks you should be disqualified from government service.<\/p>\n

That’s<\/em> what he wants to instill. And that<\/em>‘s the person to whom the US military has been accused<\/a> of going as a “key resource<\/a>” on issues of religion.\u00a0 Perhaps that’s one reason members of Congress <\/a>— and others — seem to have a perception that there is some “religious hostility<\/a>” in the US military.<\/p>\n
