Facing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jta.org\/2014\/02\/04\/news-opinion\/united-states\/agudah-presses-u-s-military-on-kosher-field-meals\">implications they were running out of kosher MREs<\/a>, the military responded:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cDLA Troop Support has sufficient stock of Kosher <!--more-->MREs on hand to satisfy the requirements of Jewish service members deployed to the Central Command region,\u201d [Mark Wright, the Defense Department spokesman], said in the email to JTA.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Command covers the Middle East and much of western Asia, and includes Iraq and Afghanistan.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So there were implications of an MRE shortage, and the DLA response was that there was no shortage&#8230;<em>in CENTCOM<\/em>.
