{"id":28140,"date":"2014-01-29T02:10:38","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T05:10:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=28140"},"modified":"2016-10-01T23:43:38","modified_gmt":"2016-10-02T02:43:38","slug":"air-force-releases-report-on-f-15-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2014\/01\/29\/air-force-releases-report-on-f-15-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"Air Force Releases Report on F-15 Crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The US Air Force <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/article\/20140125\/NEWS\/301250003\">released the investigative report<\/a> on the <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/28\/f-15-crashes-in-pacific\/\">May 2013 crash of an F-15C <em>Eagle<\/em><\/a> off the coast of Japan:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The jet stopped responding to flight control inputs&#8230;The pilot was not able to recover from a left descending spiral \u2014 after trying for 20 seconds \u2014 and ejected at 4,500 feet above sea level.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While the board <a href=\"http:\/\/www.af.mil\/News\/ArticleDisplay\/tabid\/223\/Article\/473148\/officials-release-report-on-f-15-accident-near-kadena-ab.aspx\">did cite<\/a> mechanical failure, there were also <!--more-->indications the pilot <em>should<\/em> have been able to recover &#8212; but he may have been convinced it was unrecoverable:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Accident Investigation Board president, Col.
