Her complaint was investigated by <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/11\/13\/fighter-pilots-sanctioned-over-complaints\/\">both the Inspector General and her chain of command<\/a>, and multiple officers &#8212; commanders &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theitem.com\/news\/shaw-whistleblower-wants-sexual-harassment-inquiry-redone\/article_7d4752db-4b5e-5c23-a5dd-10270f2fd72e.html\">were punished<\/a> as a result of the environment they had allowed.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <em>Air Force Times<\/em>, Smith is now retired at 18 years of service and has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/article\/20140107\/NEWS\/301070017\">appealed the results<\/a> of those investigations:\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A complaint, filed Tuesday on behalf of retired Tech. Sgt. Jennifer Smith, says the Air Force investigation \u201cmakes excuses for offenders\u201d and \u201cminimizes the seriousness of the offenses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In her appeal to the Air Force, Smith is seeking a re-investigation of allegations of sexual harassment she made two years ago \u2014 this time an investigation by military officials outside her chain of command.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That summary is odd, because the Inspector General investigation &#8212; one of at least two that occurred &#8212; <em>was<\/em> outside of her chain of command.<\/p>\n<p>TSgt Smith&#8217;s complaint was also mentioned in an article belittling a comment by Air Force IG LtGen Stephen Mueller, who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/article\/20140110\/NEWS\/301100009\/IG-goes-Facebook-lament-retirement-general-who-overturned-sex-assault-conviction\">lamented the retirement of Lt Gen Craig Franklin<\/a> &#8212; who had overturned LtCol James Wilkerson&#8217;s sexual assault conviction.
