{"id":27767,"date":"2013-12-31T01:28:53","date_gmt":"2013-12-31T04:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=27767"},"modified":"2016-11-26T00:03:40","modified_gmt":"2016-11-26T03:03:40","slug":"fort-hood-shooter-asked-for-bible-bible-expert-in-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/12\/31\/fort-hood-shooter-asked-for-bible-bible-expert-in-jail\/","title":{"rendered":"Fort Hood Shooter Asked for Bible, Bible Expert in Jail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an interesting tidbit from the Bell County Jail where then-US Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was held during his trial for the 2009 Fort Hood massacre, a report of his jail requests indicates he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stripes.com\/news\/us\/fort-hood-shooter-s-jail-requests-bible-cheese-1.259882\">asked for a Bible and a &#8220;knowledgeable person&#8221;<\/a> while he was on trial:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hasan also asked the jail for a copy of the Bible and added, &#8220;Please send a knowledgeable person to answer my difficult questions as <!--more-->well as a paperback copy for my personal use.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Galligan and one of Hasan&#8217;s military lawyers, Lt. Col. Kris Poppe, said they thought Hasan was studying the Bible from an Islamic perspective.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fascinating.
