{"id":259,"date":"2008-11-30T22:50:59","date_gmt":"2008-12-01T05:50:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=259"},"modified":"2008-12-20T11:41:06","modified_gmt":"2008-12-20T18:41:06","slug":"merry-christmas-from-christianfighterpilotcom-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2008\/11\/30\/merry-christmas-from-christianfighterpilotcom-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Merry Christmas from ChristianFighterPilot.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Remember our troops.\u00a0 Around the world, men and women in uniform will celebrate Christmas in whatever way they can.\u00a0 They will do so with those that are closest to them\u2014for our deployed troops, that may be the soldiers next to them.<\/p>\n<p>For some, it will merely be the continuation of an annual tradition that will remind them of friends and family.\u00a0 For military Christians, it will be the celebration of the birth of their Savior.\u00a0 Some will sing Christmas songs and sit in Christmas services;\u00a0some will have no ability to mark the occasion other than a private thought between tactical maneuvers.\u00a0Many will celebrate Christmas while\u00a0in uniform<!--more-->, on base, or on maneuvers, unashamed of their Savior\u2019s humble estate and well within the bounds of military regulations.<\/p>\n<p>There may be controversies\u2014over Nativity scenes in front of military chapels, the religiosity of base lighting ceremonies for Christmas or \u201choliday\u201d trees (even in Iraq and Afghanistan), or Chaplains who tell the true Christmas story outside of the walls of their chapel.\u00a0 Nevertheless, military Christians can be assured that they have the freedom to celebrate their faith, even as they serve their country around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Also remember those who will be celebrating Hannakuh, which will overlap Christmas this year and begin on 21 December.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remember our troops.\u00a0 Around the world, men and women in uniform will celebrate Christmas in whatever way they can.\u00a0 They will do so with those that are closest to them\u2014for our deployed troops, that may be the soldiers next to them.
