{"id":25575,"date":"2013-12-02T01:35:38","date_gmt":"2013-12-02T04:35:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=25575"},"modified":"2016-11-26T00:17:39","modified_gmt":"2016-11-26T03:17:39","slug":"seminary-president-celebration-of-immorality-is-ominous","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/12\/02\/seminary-president-celebration-of-immorality-is-ominous\/","title":{"rendered":"Seminary President: Celebration of Immorality is &#8220;Ominous&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jeff Iorg, president of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, recently said immorality itself is not a &#8220;final step&#8221; in a failing society; that final step is <a href=\"The Celebration of Immorality is &quot;Ominous&quot;\">the celebration of and support for immorality<\/a> &#8212; which he believes is happening now in the United States:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The final act of an unraveling society isn&#8217;t immoral behavior; it&#8217;s canonizing immoral behavior as a &#8216;new normal&#8217; and celebrating it as a &#8216;moral victory.'&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Importantly, however, Iorg noted that Christians should not oppose immoral behavior for behavior&#8217;s sake.\u00a0 Behavior is an outward expression of the condition of the heart &#8212; and the heart needs Jesus: <!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Believers cannot become preoccupied with opposing immoral behavior, Iorg said; instead, they must realize that moral choices come from a person&#8217;s spiritual condition.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Unbelievers act like unbelievers. While we uphold our moral convictions, expecting unbelievers to model Christian behavior is a misplaced hope.
