{"id":25442,"date":"2013-09-17T00:35:15","date_gmt":"2013-09-17T03:35:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=25442"},"modified":"2016-11-26T00:48:05","modified_gmt":"2016-11-26T03:48:05","slug":"airman-delivers-daughter-deploys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/09\/17\/airman-delivers-daughter-deploys\/","title":{"rendered":"Airman Delivers Daughter, Deploys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Airman First Class Timothy Pledger&#8217;s first flight out to deploy to Guam for six months was delayed, so he was able to spend a few more hours with his wife, who was due to have their child &#8220;any day.&#8221;\u00a0 His daughter decided to make her arrival at that moment, so <a href=\"http:\/\/www.defense.gov\/\/news\/newsarticle.aspx?id=120743\">Pledger had to help<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>So Pledger returned home to be with his pregnant wife&#8230;Around 9 a.m., his wife&#8217;s water broke&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The baby was already coming out. I called [emergency services] so they could give me step-by-step instructions on how to deliver the baby&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After applying what the emergency personnel told him, a few minutes later his daughter was completely out and breathing normally.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A few hours later, Pledger got on an airplane and left for six months:\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This is a testament to airmen&#8230;,&#8221; said Air Force Master Sgt. Anthony Grubb, 2nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron first sergeant. &#8220;To deliver his own daughter&#8230;and not even 12 hours later&#8230;get on a jet to support the mission says a lot about the great airmen we have here.
