{"id":25409,"date":"2013-09-18T00:21:01","date_gmt":"2013-09-18T03:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=25409"},"modified":"2020-07-06T17:30:17","modified_gmt":"2020-07-06T20:30:17","slug":"all-female-awacs-crew-includes-four-males","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/09\/18\/all-female-awacs-crew-includes-four-males\/","title":{"rendered":"All Female AWACs Crew includes Four Males"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 552nd Air Control Wing, which flies the E-3 <em>Sentry<\/em>, went out of its way to find 19 female Airmen to fill the flight deck and mandatory crew positions of the AWACs.\u00a0 They &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dodlive.mil\/index.php\/2013\/09\/all-female-crew-makes-history\/\">made history&#8230;by fielding an all-female flight crew<\/a>.&#8221;\u00a0 The wing\u00a0pulled women from every unit, including Reserves, to find enough female Airmen:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The crew, comprised every operational flying squadron within the wing, took to the air on Aug. 23, in what is believed to be the first sortie flown by an all-female crew from the wing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The &#8220;all female&#8221; flight routine has been done &#8212; and lauded &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2011\/04\/05\/fighter-pilots-fly-all-female-combat-mission\/\">several times before<\/a>, in other units and at other levels.\u00a0 It\u00a0appears precedent\u00a0has been set for <em>every<\/em> unit and airframe to make a &#8220;historic&#8221;
