As with the prior <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/06\/27\/f-16-crashes-at-luke-air-force-base\/\">F-16 mishap a few weeks ago<\/a>, there are already reports that the jet was downed by a birdstrike.\u00a0 One of the pilots reportedly descended through the fireball.<\/p>\n<p>The Air Force took the unusual approach of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/article\/20130719\/NEWS\/307190024\">rapidly identifying the crew<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Maj. Christopher Thompson was instructing a member of the German Air Force, identified&#8230;as 1st Lt.
