{"id":23721,"date":"2013-07-09T00:15:06","date_gmt":"2013-07-09T03:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=23721"},"modified":"2016-11-26T01:18:34","modified_gmt":"2016-11-26T04:18:34","slug":"atheist-soldier-refuses-to-bow-head-during-prayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/07\/09\/atheist-soldier-refuses-to-bow-head-during-prayer\/","title":{"rendered":"Atheist Soldier Refuses to Bow Head During Prayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>US Army SFC Dennis Dutton recently came to the MRFF for&#8230;help?&#8230;after this happened during his graduation from Abrahms Tank Maintainer school at Fort Benning, Georgia, in 2012:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.christianfighterpilot.com\/images\/tankpray2.jpg\" width=\"784\" height=\"371\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In case you missed it:\u00a0 He&#8217;s the one on the stage\u00a0<em>who didn&#8217;t bow his head<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/32134257721\/permalink\/10151657279167722\/\">Said Dutton<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.christianfighterpilot.com\/images\/dutton2.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"91\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Apparently, it is a point of pride that <!--more-->he has &#8220;never bowed&#8221; for prayer.\u00a0 Fair enough.\u00a0 And, apparently, nothing happened.\u00a0 No one cared or even\u00a0<em>noticed<\/em>, for that matter.\u00a0 (Nor did anyone say anything about the kid who looks like he&#8217;s checking out his watch in the same picture.)<\/p>\n<p>All this from a US military Michael Weinstein claims is overtly and coercively\u00a0fundamentalist Christian, persecuting those who step out of line.\u00a0 (Atheist Jason Torpy did make a point of saying the person praying was &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=622277281116060&amp;set=a.378554158821708.99390.221399971203795&amp;type=3&amp;theater\">pushing his beliefs on others<\/a>,&#8221; though he declined to say <em>how<\/em> he was doing so.)<\/p>\n<p>So why did Dutton make a show of this non-event?<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it was for the same reason US Army dentist, Capt Miles Cone, <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/07\/06\/army-officer-violates-orders-during-military-prayer\/\">did last year<\/a>.\u00a0 There\u00a0may be\u00a0a\u00a0feeling by some\u00a0that they <em>should<\/em> be experiencing persecution;\u00a0after all, Michael Weinstein is repeatedly <em>telling<\/em> them they&#8217;re being persecuted.\u00a0 If they don&#8217;t <em>feel<\/em> persecuted, they may actually feel\u00a0disappointed.<\/p>\n<p>The original photo is on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/E-3-81\/195425433878365\">E 3-81 Facebook page<\/a> under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=790064161081153&amp;set=a.790057374415165.94671.195425433878365&amp;type=3&amp;theater\">12-009A graduation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-like\" data-share=\"true\" data-show-faces=\"true\" data-size=\"small\" data-action=\"like\" data-layout=\"standard\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\"><strong>ADVERTISEMENT<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><!-- blogpost --><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-ad-slot=\"2728423835\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6450825356098669\"><\/ins><script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});<\/script><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>US Army SFC Dennis Dutton recently came to the MRFF for&#8230;help?&#8230;after this happened during his graduation from Abrahms Tank Maintainer school at Fort Benning, Georgia, in 2012: In case you missed it:\u00a0 He&#8217;s the one on the stage\u00a0who didn&#8217;t bow his head.
