{"id":23673,"date":"2013-07-03T01:13:16","date_gmt":"2013-07-03T04:13:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=23673"},"modified":"2016-11-26T01:20:42","modified_gmt":"2016-11-26T04:20:42","slug":"fort-rucker-hosts-vacation-bible-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/07\/03\/fort-rucker-hosts-vacation-bible-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Fort Rucker Hosts Vacation Bible School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>US military chapels provide a wide variety of spiritual support for troops and their families, and the traditional summer Vacation Bible School is one important part of that.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dvidshub.net\/news\/108986\/vbs-brings-bible-life\">Fort Rucker&#8217;s program<\/a> this year included a full-scale Wilderness Tabernacle:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The tabernacle takes the things that you and I might read in the Bible and brings them to life,\u201d said Spiers. \u201cWhat we do with the children, since there is an old-testament basis and message with the tabernacle, is bring the symbolism of the old into the new-testament because it\u2019s <!--more-->very rich, it\u2019s very real and it\u2019s very biblical.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The tabernacle set up at the Spiritual Life Center was 150 feet long, 75 feet wide, and all artifacts, including the well-known sacrificial alter and Arc of the Covenant, were built to scale&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The children seemed to enjoy it:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Ulandria Hartman&#8230;said one of her favorite things of VBS was more about the lessons she learned while she was there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy favorite part was learning about the 10 commandments,\u201d she said. \u201cYou should always honor your father and mother, and if you obey them, you will live a long life.
