{"id":22747,"date":"2013-05-17T02:15:12","date_gmt":"2013-05-17T05:15:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=22747"},"modified":"2016-11-26T01:29:39","modified_gmt":"2016-11-26T04:29:39","slug":"mrff-member-goes-anonymous-for-mikey-and-harms-his-cause","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/17\/mrff-member-goes-anonymous-for-mikey-and-harms-his-cause\/","title":{"rendered":"MRFF Member Goes Anonymous for Mikey &#8212; and Harms his Cause"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Weinstein has been working hard to recover from his self-inflicted public relations debacle that began with the <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/04\/29\/reports-us-air-force-consults-michael-weinstein-on-religious-policy\/\">Sally Quinn article<\/a> praising his &#8216;heroic&#8217; and substantial influence over the US Air Force.\u00a0 As part of that effort, Weinstein got a high-ranking supporter to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.militaryreligiousfreedom.org\/2013\/05\/retired-servicemembers-representing-the-spectrum-of-ranks-speak-out-against-smear-campaign\/\">write a letter defending him<\/a> &#8212; anonymously, of course.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Mikey ~<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n&#8230;As a retired, multiple-star, senior officer (General or Admiral) you know that I was <strong>asked by the Chief of Staff&#8230;to be my Service\u2019s direct day-to-day interface with you<\/strong>. During those <strong>three years<\/strong>, and specifically because of that relationship, my Service avoided countless&#8230;breaches of religious civil rights&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>As a direct result of <strong>this relationship<\/strong>, we had military Service-wide policies written\/documented for our entire Service to follow!!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Once again, though, Weinstein&#8217;s ego may have undone his own attempts at obfuscation.<\/p>\n<p>The supportive letter refers to &#8220;policies&#8221; written for the &#8220;entire Service&#8221; as a &#8220;direct result&#8221; of Weinstein.\u00a0 The only service that <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/17\/af-publishes-new-reg-on-religion-social-media-house-cleaning\/\">has done that<\/a>, which Weinstein has <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/21\/michael-weinstein-is-a-fan-predicts-christian-coup\/\">claimed influence over<\/a>, no less, is the Air Force.\u00a0 Based on the timeline, the Chief of Staff is certainly <!--more-->General Norton Schwartz.\u00a0 That&#8217;s no surprise, since Weinstein has already admitted <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/20\/michael-weinstein-unloads-on-former-air-force-ally\/\">he had a buddy-buddy relationship<\/a> with the now-retired four-star.<\/p>\n<p>Who did General Schwartz ask to be the point-man for dealing with Weinstein?\u00a0 Probably the same office that current Chief of Staff General Mark Welsh has: his TJAG, the Judge Advocate General of the Air Force.\u00a0 For Gen Schwartz&#8217;s tenure, that would have been recently retired LtGen Jack Rives, who, as the Air Force&#8217;s highest ranking lawyer, was responsible for advising General Schwartz on the Air Force&#8217;s responses to Weinstein&#8217;s attacks.\u00a0 Coincidentally enough, <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/02\/23\/mikey-weinsteins-friends-and-allies-in-military-high-places-part-3\/\">LtGen Rives enthusiastically endorsed Weinstein&#8217;s cause<\/a> (and his book) shortly after retiring.<\/p>\n<p>Shockingly, the General&#8217;s public admission actually <em>validates <\/em>the very things the MRFF has been calling &#8220;lies&#8221; over the past few weeks.\u00a0 Rather than help Weinstein, it actually fuels the arguments of his critics.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;anonymous&#8221; letter admits the Air Force had an official relationship with Weinstein over at least a period of three years, in which this General &#8212; officially appointed to personally be Weinstein&#8217;s military intermediary on a &#8220;day-to-day&#8221; basis &#8212; took his complaints and <em>acted <\/em>on them, rather than viewing them critically or defending the rights and virtues of his fellow and subordinate troops:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Mikey, when you revealed these potential abuses by officials in my armed forces Service, I contacted the Command Section of the responsible agency&#8230;who took actions to fix the situation. Many times that \u201cfix action\u201d was accomplished in hours&#8230;not weeks&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m stupefied by suggestions of severing a <strong>relationship which worked so well <\/strong>for my Service.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If the 59 Congressmen who demanded the Air Force <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/Big-Government\/2013\/05\/13\/56-Congressmen-Demand-Hagel-Explain-Meeting-with-Anti-Christian-Extremist\">explain its relationship with Weinstein<\/a> needed any more ammunition, Weinstein himself just provided it.\u00a0 Weinstein would have shot himself in the foot if he hadn&#8217;t had it <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/17\/religious-freedom-critic-weinstein-admits-targeting-christians\/\">shoved in his mouth already<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unclear why the General in the letter even <em>wants <\/em>to be anonymous, since he&#8217;s offered to &#8220;come out&#8221; if the military will give him face time with &#8220;appropriate, high-level decision makers&#8221; (again, providing evidence for Congressmen critical of the relationship).\u00a0 Of course, its not the first time a member of the US military who was already publicly aligned with Weinstein pulled on a veil to <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2013\/01\/08\/atheist-soldier-mrff-member-goes-anonymous-for-jesus-manga\/\">send him an &#8220;anonymous&#8221; letter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-like\" data-share=\"true\" data-show-faces=\"true\" data-size=\"small\" data-action=\"like\" data-layout=\"standard\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\"><strong>ADVERTISEMENT<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><!-- blogpost --><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-ad-slot=\"2728423835\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6450825356098669\"><\/ins><script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});<\/script><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Weinstein has been working hard to recover from his self-inflicted public relations debacle that began with the Sally Quinn article praising his &#8216;heroic&#8217; and substantial influence over the US Air Force.\u00a0 As part of that effort, Weinstein got a high-ranking supporter to write a letter defending him &#8212; anonymously, of course.
