{"id":20292,"date":"2012-11-29T02:13:39","date_gmt":"2012-11-29T05:13:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=20292"},"modified":"2012-11-29T02:13:39","modified_gmt":"2012-11-29T05:13:39","slug":"fort-braggs-13-5m-chapel-to-be-dedicated-in-time-for-holidays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/11\/29\/fort-braggs-13-5m-chapel-to-be-dedicated-in-time-for-holidays\/","title":{"rendered":"Fort Bragg&#8217;s $13.5M Chapel to be Dedicated in Time for Holidays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Construction is complete on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fayobserver.com\/articles\/2012\/11\/25\/1218827?sac=fo.military\">US Army&#8217;s newest chapel facility on Fort Bragg<\/a>, and the chapel will open in time for holiday services.\u00a0 The complex, billed as the first chapel built on the base since Vietnam, has a sprawling campus and a main sanctuary that has double the capacity of the Division Memorial Chapel it is <a href=\"http:\/\/fortbragg.patch.com\/articles\/construction-complete-on-fort-bragg-s-13-5-million-chapel\">intended to replace<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>At 22,600 square-feet, the complex includes a worship and activity center, expansion area, gathering area, lobby, clergy and staff offices, baptistery and sacristy suites, meditation and reconciliation room, kitchen, choir room, nursery, and vestibules. With a seating capacity of 629, the new facility is twice as large as the old chapel, which only seats 300. The facility spans 9 acres located off Ardennes Road next to the 82nd Airborne Division Memorial Museum.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The chapel also boasts some significant historical content:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>One of the most distinguishing features of the chapel is <!--more-->the seven historical stained glass windows, which were relocated from the 82nd Memorial Chapel and incorporated into the new facility.
