{"id":19028,"date":"2012-08-14T01:33:23","date_gmt":"2012-08-14T04:33:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=19028"},"modified":"2015-06-27T19:13:07","modified_gmt":"2015-06-27T22:13:07","slug":"muslim-soldier-sentenced-to-life-in-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/14\/muslim-soldier-sentenced-to-life-in-prison\/","title":{"rendered":"Muslim Soldier Sentenced to Life in Prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>US Army PFC Naser Abdo has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/2012\/08\/ap-awol-soldier-sentenced-081012\/\">sentenced to more than two life terms<\/a> (with no possibility of parole) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/2012\/08\/10\/awol-soldier-gets-life-term-for-fort-hood-plot\/\">by a federal court<\/a> for his plan to kill fellow Soldiers in the cause of &#8220;jihad.&#8221;\u00a0 Abdo &#8220;remained defiant&#8221; even during his sentencing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I will continue until the day the dead are called to account for their deeds,&#8221; Abdo said in a low, gravelly voice through the cloth mask.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He was reportedly wearing the mask because he had been spitting <!--more-->blood on federal agents &#8212; blood he incorrectly believed, for some reason, to be infected with HIV.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In court, Abdo referred to Maj. Nidal Hasan \u2014 the Army psychiatrist soon to be tried in a deadly shooting rampage at that Army post \u2014 as &#8220;my brother.&#8221; He said he lived in Hasan&#8217;s shadow despite &#8220;efforts to outdo him&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In a police interview, Abdo said he wanted to carry out the attack because he didn&#8217;t &#8220;appreciate what (his) unit did in Afghanistan.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>No reports have yet publicized how the US Army is going to handle his likely discharge.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Weinstein, who frequently criticizes Christians in the military for mixing their religious beliefs with their military service, has said almost nothing about Abdo &#8212;
