{"id":17725,"date":"2012-05-10T00:21:14","date_gmt":"2012-05-10T03:21:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=17725"},"modified":"2012-05-10T16:58:02","modified_gmt":"2012-05-10T19:58:02","slug":"you-can-vote-for-best-military-dad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/05\/10\/you-can-vote-for-best-military-dad\/","title":{"rendered":"You can Vote for Best Military Dad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three military men are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/2012\/05\/military-vote-for-military-fatherhood-award-050912w\/\">vying for the National Fatherhood Award<\/a>, sponsored by the National Fatherhood Initiative.\u00a0 The award, which includes undisclosed prize packages,\u00a0will be presented near Father&#8217;s Day.\u00a0 Until May 25th, you can vote for your pick at the Initiative&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/nationalfatherhoodinitiative\">Facebook page<\/a>, where you can watch videos produced by the three finalists.\u00a0 The contenders include two officers and a young enlisted troop; all three have impressive stories: <!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Navy Chaplain (Lt) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dvidshub.net\/news\/87128\/1st-rad-bn-chaplain-up-military-fatherhood-award-facebook\">Dennis Kelly<\/a>, who works to support other military dads while striving to improve himself as father to his five children, according to his wife Brandy, who nominated him.<\/li>\n<li>Senior Airman Jonathan Jackson may be a relatively young 26, but he has fostered six children and adopted two.\u00a0 Capt. Curtis Raaberg nominated him, noting Jackson and his wife also volunteer to babysit for single parents in their community, both to give them a break and let them perform extended military duties.<\/li>\n<li>Army 1st Lt.
