Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council notes that a US servicemember raised the “rainbow flag” over an American base<\/a> in Afghanistan, as indicated by the serviceman’s wife’s Facebook post<\/a>:<\/p>\n The flag is recognizable as the symbol for the homosexual “movement,” though it remains unclear why someone needs a flag to advertise the fact they’re sexually attracted to members of the same gender.<\/p>\n Perkins notes the lack of cognitive dissonance in those who claim the conduct of the US military should be predicated on the reaction of local Afghans:<\/p>\n Where is the concern now for angering Afghan Muslims, who vehemently oppose homosexuality? The issue is as much an issue of military security as it is of religious morality. After February’s accident with the Korans, American lives were lost. What price will we pay because some want to use the military to show their gay pride?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Within the comments on the Facebook page some self-identified homosexual veterans took issue, noting it was an entirely inappropriate display by a uniformed military member.\u00a0 A few homosexual advocacy sites defended the flag, noting the Afghans “probably didn’t even know what it meant” anyway.\u00a0 Interesting, because that defense didn’t work when Michael Weinstein cried “national security threat” over secret “Bible codes”<\/a> on “Jesus rifles” last year.\u00a0 (Also, while Islam <\/em>may “vehemently oppose homosexuality,” some cultural analysts have indicated homosexuality, including\u00a0homosexual\u00a0pedophilia, may actually be common<\/a> in some parts of Afghanistan.)<\/p>\n Of course, this isn’t the first time uniformed servicemembers have publicly rallied around the issue of sexuality<\/a> in a country where homosexuality is an anathema to the state religion, and in a forum that was probably inappropriate — without reaction by any of these same “watchdog” groups or the military leadership.<\/p>\n Chris Rodda thinks American troops celebrating Easter<\/a> puts American lives at risk in Afghanistan, and Michael Weinstein thinks Marines being baptized in California<\/a> provides propaganda for al Qaeda.\u00a0 Just imagine what the extremist Islamic adversary thinks about symbol of homosexuality\u00a0being raised over an American outpost…<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.christianfighterpilot.com\/images\/afghanrainbow1.jpg\")
