Jeff Haney for the&#8230;crash in Alaska, despite the service\u2019s own report that said Haney was at fault.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did not assign blame to the pilot,\u201d Schwartz said <!--more-->during a House Appropriations Defense subcommittee hearing. \u201c\u2026 This was a complex contingency that he did his best to manage and, in the end, we lost aircraft control.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>By contrast, the AF Times notes the report said<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI find the cause of the mishap was the MP\u2019s [mishap pilot] failure to recognize and initiate a timely dive recovery due to channelized attention, breakdown of visual scan and unrecognized spatial disorientation,\u201d Brig. Gen.
