{"id":16049,"date":"2012-02-13T01:21:40","date_gmt":"2012-02-13T04:21:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=16049"},"modified":"2015-06-27T19:14:08","modified_gmt":"2015-06-27T22:14:08","slug":"deployed-american-troops-produce-video-for-it-gets-better","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/02\/13\/deployed-american-troops-produce-video-for-it-gets-better\/","title":{"rendered":"Deployed American Troops Produce Video for &#8220;It Gets Better&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <em>Stars and Stripes <\/em>notes some deployed American troops <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stripes.com\/blogs\/stripes-central\/stripes-central-1.8040\/gay-troops-overseas-let-teens-know-it-gets-better-1.166648\">filmed a short video under the auspices of OutServe<\/a>, a homosexual advocacy group, for the &#8220;It Gets Better&#8221; project,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>an initiative created to show young gay and transgender individuals the happiness and potential that awaits them if they can make it through their tumultuous teen years.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <em>Stripes <\/em>article was written at the end of January, shortly after the video was <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/a_QpSsvO7-I\">posted to YouTube<\/a>.\u00a0 There has been little public reaction to the publication.\u00a0 (As a point of clarification, &#8220;transgender&#8221; individuals are still banned from military service.)<\/p>\n<p>The video begs an interesting question:\u00a0 What would the reaction be if uniformed, deployed (and armed) servicemembers\u00a0posted a YouTube video on behalf of <em>their <\/em>non-Federal entity extolling the religious <!--more-->values in <em>opposition <\/em>to homosexuality?<\/p>\n<p>For another perspective, consider that one of the MRFF&#8217;s primary lines of attack through its researcher, Chris Rodda, has been the &#8220;endorsement of non-Federal entities&#8221; by Christians expressing their religious beliefs in uniform.\u00a0 Moreover, Michael Weinstein and his clique have claimed the simple knowledge that <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2010\/08\/13\/freedom-group-seeks-ban-on-religious-exercise-in-the-us-military\/\">baptized US Marines were being deployed to\u00a0Afghanistan<\/a> is propaganda for American adversaries, even though Christians are held in some respect by those of the Islamic faith &#8212; even the Taliban (so long as you don&#8217;t convert from Islam first).<\/p>\n<p>Being homosexual under the Taliban, however, was a capital crime.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Stars and Stripes notes some deployed American troops filmed a short video under the auspices of OutServe, a homosexual advocacy group, for the &#8220;It Gets Better&#8221; project, an initiative created to show young gay and transgender individuals the happiness and potential that awaits them if they can make it through their tumultuous teen years.
