Number One in DVD Sales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.courageousthemovie.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.christianfighterpilot.com\/images\/courage.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"85\" height=\"110\" \/>Courageous<\/a><\/em>, a movie about five men and the challenges of faith, family, and fatherhood, was the number one new movie in America when it <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2011\/10\/12\/courageous-actor-has-air-force-academy-in-mind\/\">hit theatres last fall<\/a>.\u00a0 This past week it came out on DVD, where it again hit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/courageous-beats-ides-of-march-moneyball-in-dvd-charts-68328\/\">top of the charts<\/a>.\u00a0 The church-made film reportedly had a budget of around $2 million, a number that belies its nearly Hollywood-worthy production quality.\u00a0 Box office numbers were in the $34M range.<\/p>\n<p>Four of the men are Albany police <!--more-->officers, and one is a local construction worker.\u00a0 The film doesn&#8217;t directly address the challenges of living a Christian faith or being a father as it relates to their careers, though at one point the police chief pointedly says<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Look, I know your shiftwork&#8217;s hard, and I know you see the worst side of people out there.\u00a0 But when you\u00a0clock out, go home and love your families.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Both the film and its producers (who previously made <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002EYLOE6\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=chrifighpilo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B002EYLOE6\">Facing the Giants<\/a> <\/em>and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B001HN68ZU\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=chrifighpilo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B001HN68ZU\">Fireproof<\/a><\/em>) are unapologetically Christian, and faith is central to the movie&#8217;s message.\u00a0 The challenging message to be good fathers is related clearly across career fields, race, and family history.\u00a0 Whether you are a fighter pilot, security forces, crew chief, or civilian, it is a message worth hearing &#8212;
