{"id":15440,"date":"2012-01-24T01:32:56","date_gmt":"2012-01-24T04:32:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=15440"},"modified":"2015-06-27T19:14:14","modified_gmt":"2015-06-27T22:14:14","slug":"book-christian-fighter-pilots-illegally-defend-israel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/01\/24\/book-christian-fighter-pilots-illegally-defend-israel\/","title":{"rendered":"Book: Christian Fighter Pilots Illegally Defend Israel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a move that will likely cause Michael Weinstein, Richard Baker, <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2011\/07\/20\/mrff-breaks-secret-christan-code\/\">Leah Burton<\/a>\u00a0and other\u00a0conspiracy theorists to have heart palpitations, author Mark Andrews\u00a0has released an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swordofthecovenant.com\/\">eBook entitled <em>Sword of the Covenant<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The premise:\u00a0 The US &#8220;lacks the political will&#8221; to help prevent the annihilation of Israel by Iran, so two top Pentagon officials try to convince USAF fighter pilots in Turkey and US Navy fighter pilots on a gulf-based aircraft carrier &#8212; all evangelical Christians &#8212; to launch <!--more-->a rogue mission in its defense.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, the author has this question in his FAQ:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Are you advocating that U.S. military aviators violate orders to undertake unauthorized airstrikes in defense of Israel should the opportunity present itself?<\/em><br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nAbsolutely NOT! As the book makes clear, military officers have an obligation to follow the lawful orders of their superiors. In addition, the Bible (1 Peter 2:13-14) says Christians are subject to the civilian authorities God has placed over them.
