{"id":15415,"date":"2012-01-17T01:15:11","date_gmt":"2012-01-17T04:15:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=15415"},"modified":"2012-01-17T01:15:48","modified_gmt":"2012-01-17T04:15:48","slug":"jihadists-sentenced-for-12th-planned-islamic-based-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2012\/01\/17\/jihadists-sentenced-for-12th-planned-islamic-based-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"Jihadists Sentenced for 12th Planned Islamic-based Attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Associated Press noted three of a group of 8 men were recently sentenced for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marinecorpstimes.com\/news\/2012\/01\/ap-marine-quantico-court-sentences-3-plotters-011312\/\">conspiring to attack Marine Corps Base Quantico<\/a> as well as other targets.\u00a0 Known in some places as the Raleigh jihadists, the men were arrested in July of 2009.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hysen Sherifi, [the only non-US citizen] will serve 45 years in prison; Ziyad Yaghi&#8230;got nearly 32 years; and Mohammad Omar Aly Hassan&#8230;was sentenced to 15 years.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Lawyers for the men have claimed they were<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>discussing terrorism rather than committing terrorist acts&#8230;But US District Judge Louise Flanagan said the men went beyond talk to planning violence.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The father of one defendant accused the judge of attacking Islam:\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou\u2019re prosecuting Islam.
