Mike Reynolds of the Oklahoma state legislature has introduced legislation to put &#8220;Don&#8217;t Ask, Don&#8217;t Tell&#8221; back in place for the Oklahoma National Guard.\u00a0 A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stripes.com\/blogs\/stripes-central\/stripes-central-1.8040\/state-rep-wants-dadt-return-for-oklahoma-guard-1.165574\">similar bill in Virginia last year<\/a> did not make it to a vote.\u00a0 Reynolds said the reason was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tulsaworld.com\/news\/article.aspx?subjectid=12&amp;articleid=20120110_16_A5_ULNSbc207963&amp;allcom=1\">troops&#8217; request<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The bill is being proposed in response to requests from members of the Oklahoma National Guard, Reynolds said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The National Guard <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/2012\/01\/ap-oklahoma-bill-would-reinstate-dadt-for-guard-010912\/\">declined comment<\/a>, and the relationship <!--more-->of the law to the Guard when under Federal status would be open to question.<\/p>\n<p>The relationship of the National Guard with the active duty military can be a bit confusing depending on whether or not they are serving in a federal or state status.\u00a0 As of a few weeks ago, the National Guard became a full member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, which some argued would confuse the chain of command even further.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican Rep.
