The last “scandal” at the US Air Force Academy, regarding Operation Christmas Child<\/a>, was reportedly initiated by a USAFA cadet forwarding an email to Michael Weinstein.\u00a0 Prior to that, the scandal-circuit had been pretty quiet — but not for lack of trying on Weinstein’s part.\u00a0 When there isn’t something to complain about, Weinstein has gone looking.<\/p>\n

The law firm of Jones Day — which has assisted\u00a0Weinstein in other cases — has been looking for information on “The Airman’s Bible and the Airman’s New Testament.”\u00a0 The Airman’s Bible was previously discussed<\/a>;\u00a0the “Airman’s New Testament<\/a>” is\u00a0similar.\u00a0 It seems the target is some <\/em>indication, somewhere<\/em>, that the Air Force was directly or indirectly involved in the production of the Air Force-themed Bibles.<\/p>\n

The acknowledgements\u00a0in the Bible do mention military members, and\u00a0the Bible\u00a0carries Air Force symbols, so the target is probably\u00a0something, somewhere,\u00a0that will\u00a0incriminate someone…about something.\u00a0 Naturally, this hunt for an as-yet unknown smoking gun about an unknown problem will prove the obvious fact Christianity is preferred in the US military.\u00a0 Somehow.<\/p>\n

In another case, Pam Zubeck of the CSIndy <\/em>recently publicized a portion <\/em>of a Weinstein fishing expedition<\/a>:\u00a0 Weinstein is asking for names and processes surrounding the “Falcon Clips” published last year.\u00a0 Previously, the ominous observation was made that Weinstein seemed to be headhunting for people corresponding with this site.<\/p>\n

That has now been confirmed by contacts at USAFA.<\/p>\n

It seems Zubeck conveniently omitted that Michael\u00a0Weinstein is demanding to know about\u00a0contact between this site and members\u00a0at USAFA.\u00a0 It shouldn’t be a surprise Weinstein would do so, though.\u00a0 That’s how you <\/em>would ‘defend religious freedom,’ right?<\/p>\n

Why is he searching?\u00a0 Well, accusations of wrongdoing, of course.\u00a0 What accusations?\u00a0\u00a0They’ll come later, naturally.\u00a0 That’s what a fishing expedition is: a hunt for something, somewhere that might be incriminating, even when there’s no public indication of any such thing.<\/p>\n

It should be an interesting conversation.<\/p>\n

The fact that Weinstein even cares <\/em>about correspondence between this site and people at USAFA is an indication of his obsession with manufacturing controversy —\u00a0and with this site.\u00a0 In the absence of “scandal,” he’ll try to dig something up he can use as one.\u00a0 And this site…well, he’s been after<\/a> ChristianFighterPilot.com for years<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Apparently this site, which Weinstein once belittled as a “tiny blog” with only 3 readers, has managed to affect his publicity — and maybe even his bottom line.\u00a0 When this site pointed out the substantial <\/em>compensation he gives himself<\/a> from the non-profit “charity” for which he is the sole paid officer, he threatened to file a lawsuit, as he has with many of his critics.\u00a0 (When this site didn’t fold in the face of his attempted intimidation, he failed to follow through, as he frequently has.)\u00a0 Failing in that, he’s tried to use the military itself to influence this site, which has also come to nothing (and, in fact, may have negatively impacted his cause and his pawns).\u00a0 He has led his “group” in what is essentially a campaign of harassment in his continued efforts to “agitate” his way into influence.\u00a0 Again, he’s been unsuccessful.<\/p>\n

His latest search for contacts with this site is simply the next step.\u00a0 First, its an effort to find out what this site has done with USAFA — an attempt to confirm his vast, right-wing conspiracy theory that senior military leaders are conspiring (with James Dobson, Dick Cheney, and this site, even) to take over the world.\u00a0 Second, Weinstein would like to intimidate those who might have — or might in the future — correspond here.\u00a0 He can’t abide criticism, so he cannot sit idly by while people learn here and other places that Weinstein doesn’t fight his “war” for religious freedom.<\/p>\n

He fights it for his own personal vendetta — and benefit — and he’s using the men and women of the US military as his pawns in his effort.<\/p>\n

So, don’t be surprised to hear about a new “scandal” in the next few months, either about “The Airman’s Bible” or someone exchanging emails with this site.\u00a0 Of course, if you don’t<\/em> hear anything, it probably means Weinstein got skunked, and despite the FOIAs he’s been hassling USAFA with, he was unable to find anything about which to vent his normal vitriol.<\/p>\n

Not to worry.\u00a0 Weinstein will just go on another fishing expedition.\u00a0 He’ll force the US military to spend countless man-hours to provide him — free of charge — with information he’ll then turn around and try to humiliate the US military with.\u00a0 He’s found a simple formula to continue his vitriolic attacks on the military, as well as a convenient way to try to intimidate those who defend religious freedom and the military against him — with the side benefit that each cry of outrage he makes will be accompanied by a fundraising plea, more than half of which may go directly to his own paycheck.<\/p>\n
