{"id":13820,"date":"2011-11-02T01:30:09","date_gmt":"2011-11-02T06:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=13820"},"modified":"2011-10-30T23:29:46","modified_gmt":"2011-10-31T04:29:46","slug":"army-addresses-spiritual-resiliency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2011\/11\/02\/army-addresses-spiritual-resiliency\/","title":{"rendered":"Army Addresses Spiritual Resiliency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.army.mil\/article\/67706\/Luncheon_enlightens_community_of_spiritual_resiliency\/\">Spiritual Resiliency Luncheon<\/a> in October, US Army Chaplain (Col) Barbara Sherer, assistant commandant of the US Army Chaplain Center and School, was introduced by Third Infantry Division Commander MajGen Robert &#8220;Abe&#8221; Abrams to speak on spiritual resiliency.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Resilience is that ability to come back and spring back to whatever should be normal for you,&#8221; she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Resilience has been increasingly important in the Army as Soldiers <!--more-->fight in and return from war, seeking to find &#8220;normal&#8221; when they are no longer in life and death combat.<\/p>\n<p>Chaplain Assistant SSgt Keith Wright explained resilience as<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Resiliency, as studied in the Army, is being able to bounce back from certain setbacks. When you&#8217;re faced with hard times, [spiritual resiliency] is how to bounce back spiritually.
