{"id":11712,"date":"2011-07-01T03:00:40","date_gmt":"2011-07-01T08:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=11712"},"modified":"2015-06-27T19:15:18","modified_gmt":"2015-06-27T22:15:18","slug":"army-islamic-objector-charged-with-child-pornography","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2011\/07\/01\/army-islamic-objector-charged-with-child-pornography\/","title":{"rendered":"Army Islamic Objector Charged with Child Pornography"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to a variety of websites (including his own Facebook page), US Army PFC Nasser Abdo was granted status as a conscientious objector.\u00a0 (His case was <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2010\/11\/15\/muslim-soldier-recommended-for-discharge-as-co\/\">previously noted<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Two days later, his discharge was put on hold as he was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/2011\/06\/15\/muslim-soldier-objecting-to-war-charged-with-child-pornography\/\">charged with possession of child pornography<\/a> as a result of 34 images on his government-issued computer.\u00a0 The criminal investigation has reportedly been going on for months; Abdo claims the charges are part of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theleafchronicle.com\/article\/20110615\/NEWS08\/110615012\/Fort-Campbell-conscientious-objector-faces-child-porn-charges?odyssey=tab%7Cmostpopular%7Ctext%7CFRONTPAGE\">continuing pattern of discrimination<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As discussed previously, <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2010\/09\/06\/islamic-group-calls-muslim-army-soldier-traitor\/\">Michael Weinstein has remained silent<\/a> during Abdo&#8217;s application for discharge (even after Abdo became his &#8220;fan&#8221; on Facebook) &#8212; despite the <!--more-->blatant contradiction with Weinstein&#8217;s own position.\u00a0 He <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2009\/11\/25\/weinstein-and-the-court-martial-of-maj-nidal-hasan\/\">once said of Nidal Malik Hasan<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If it is proven true that Hasan was advocating for Muslims to be excused from combat operations and other U.S. military service, then he should have been aggressively and immediately court-martialed&#8230;He was, in essence, exacerbating a horrid stereotype and actually helping to create, if not buttress, the hostile environment surrounding him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As Abdo has sought discharge for the same logic, Weinstein should be demanding Abdo&#8217;s court martial, or perhaps threatening to sue the US military for granting Abdo objector status.\u00a0 Instead, he has done nothing.<\/p>\n<p>Another perspective has been raised saying the US Army may have <a href=\"http:\/\/pajamasmedia.com\/blog\/shock-dept-of-defense-vindicates-fort-hood-killer\/\">endangered its prosecution of Hasan<\/a> by granting Abdo status as a CO, since Hasan expressed the same sentiments as Abdo prior to the massacre at Fort Hood.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to a variety of websites (including his own Facebook page), US Army PFC Nasser Abdo was granted status as a conscientious objector.\u00a0 (His case was previously noted.)
