{"id":108,"date":"2007-08-10T18:36:36","date_gmt":"2007-08-10T22:36:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=108"},"modified":"2015-06-27T19:17:03","modified_gmt":"2015-06-27T22:17:03","slug":"frc-responds-to-pentagon-ig-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/10\/frc-responds-to-pentagon-ig-report\/","title":{"rendered":"FRC Responds to Pentagon IG Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.onenewsnow.com\/2007\/08\/perkins_alarmed_about_fallout.php\">One News Now<\/a>, Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council, is concerned that organizations like Weinstein&#8217;s MRFF may &#8220;extrapolate&#8221; the IG&#8217;s recent decision regarding Pentagon officers&#8217; participation in a\u00a0Christian Embassy video (see recent <a href=\"http:\/\/christianfighterpilot.com\/blog\/?p=107\">post<\/a> below).<\/p>\n<p>The IG found that the officers violated Joint Ethics Regulations regarding endorsement of a &#8220;non-federal entity while in uniform,&#8221; but also noted that the violations had nothing to do with religion.\u00a0 Weinstein\u00a0has proclaimed on his website that the report <a href=\"http:\/\/www.militaryreligiousfreedom.org\/press-releases\/christian_embassy.html\">proves<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230;the intentional dismantling of the Constitutionally mandated wall separating church and state by some of the highest ranking officials in the Bush Administration and the U.S. military&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Perkins points out that the issue at stake was not Constitutionality or the Establishment Clause, as Weinstein insists, but non-religious ethics regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Perkins expressed concern that &#8220;extrapolation&#8221; to the appearance of punishing the officers&#8217; involvement with a religious organization (which was not the case) may &#8220;intimidate&#8230;military personnel from being associated with religion.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to One News Now, Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council, is concerned that organizations like Weinstein&#8217;s MRFF may &#8220;extrapolate&#8221; the IG&#8217;s recent decision regarding Pentagon officers&#8217; participation in a\u00a0Christian Embassy video (see recent post below).
